Screen will not come on when trying to power it up. the power button blinks red 7 times, then pauses, then blinks 7 more times. it will repeat this process over and over. t.v. will not come on...help!!!!

These blinks [flashes] are fault indication (Error Codes). From the number of blinks occur at one time switch ON, you can get an idea about the faulty circuit section inside it. This will make repair easy. These are called blinking codes. Make sure about the exact number of blinking of the standby/power LED, by switching On & OFF the set, for at least two times. If blinks continue without any pause, the main board is faulty.

how many blinks does the red light give in a row? This would be an error code?

The problem for 7 blinks would be an Interface board. Apparently there is a glitch in the interface board that sends signals to the television. Basically the glitch shorts out the board and the t.v wont turn on and you will see the power light blink 7 times pause then 7 more. You can replace the board with a new one and update the software on the new interface board.

If there is no pause, you may have a power supply problem. This would require an authorized sony servicer.

wait for the light to go out then press power. Then if it doesnt power up hold the menu and the Device/input buttons on the set both in together for 5 seconds the light will blink a series of blinks pause briefly then blink another number of blinks then pause then it will repeat the same two digit blink sequence a few times . Let me know the two digit blink sequence.

Likely damage to main power supply-------try to see if there is a specific number of blinks then a pause and repeats like 7 blinks a pause and repeats---that is an error code if there---with it AND THE MODEL NUMBER OF THE TV I might be able or not to help.

In standby mode (red led on/after the led stops from blinking), press "Display", "5", Volume (-)", "Power on" on the remote control in sequence, self diagnostic screen will be display, let me know the what is on the screen to diagnose where the fault came from.

I believe the problem is either in the G board ( power supply) or the D Board ( high voltage) as the 3 blinks indicate the G board, and 7 indicates the D board and 6 indicates the +5 line a and b boards. So with that many codes its most likely the G board (power supply) You can get a new replacement G board at the following link which comes with free tech support to help you plug the baord in which is very easy.
