Toshiba no bootable device--insert boot disk and press any key

try booting from a Windows installation disc. Choose the repair installation option. If this does not work, you may have to erase (format) your whole drive and start over again by reinstalling Windows from scratch.

Before erasing the drive, you might want to pull it out, put as a second drive in another working computer or inside a USB hard drive case and download all of your information from it. Otherwise you may have a mess on your hands with lost data/documents/photos.

I want to set back to factory mode

I am guessing that you want to do a complete system restore back to factory, correct? If so then you realize everything on your computer will be wiped out and it will be back to what is was when it left the factory. This is an extreme change. Turn off your Lenovo. (i mean shut down and make sure it's power off) Now press on the "One Key Recovery" key at the top of your Keyboard, your Lenovo S10 should boot up. Else hold down the "One Key Recovery" key until it boot up. Now you may choose "Restore to factory settings" from the screen and proceed for the restoration. ** the restoration will first check if your windows files has been corrupted, if yes, then it will restore it to the original state and no restore is required. else it will continue with the restoration. Hope this helps...

Need to do a system restore

You can try by going to help by the start buttton and searching on restore/recovery and doing so. Or you can go to start, control panel and looking to see if there is a restore\recovery icon. Lastly you would have to reinstall your operating system by putting in the cd and rebooting after pressing F2 and selecting boot from CD. This WILL cause all user data to be lost so if you need it, it must be backed up first.

How to Restore a Toshiba L305The Toshiba Satellite L305 notebook computer has a recovery program pre-installed at the factory that lets users return the hard drive to its out-of-box state. Using the recovery feature completely deletes all software and options saved on the laptop, which resolves any boot up problems and removes any virus infections. The recovery option isn't accessible directly through the operating system however, and must be accessed by starting up the computer in a different way than normal. Step 1 Close out any software currently running on your Toshiba Satellite L305 laptop. Navigate to the laptop's "Start" menu and choose "Shut Down."
Step 2 Hold down the laptop's "0" key and press the power button. Keep the key held down during the boot up process until the "Toshiba Recovery Wizard" window loads on the screen.
Step 3 Click the check box labeled "Recovery of Factory Default Software." Choose the "Next" option.
Step 4 Choose the "Recover to out-of-box state" radio button. Select the "Next" button and click "Next" again. Wait for the "Press any key" prompt to appear and tap a key to restart the laptop.
Step 5 Use the prompts that appear on the screen to choose your region, time zone and keyboard settings. Type your new Windows user name and password in the text boxes when prompted. Click "Finish" to load the new operating system....

How do you go about to format a toshiba l650 and reinstall windows 7

Hi! If you have the Windows 7 disc just insert it restart the computer. It will boot directly from the disc. Then follow the step by step instructions here.
If you don't have the Windows 7 disc, you have two ways to reformat your Toshiba computer.
Using Toshiba HDD Recovery Utility from the recovery partition
In case of a hard disk drive failure, you may be able to restore the drive to the factory default state using the on-disk Toshiba HDD Recovery Utility (in a special partition on the hard disk drive).
You can select restoring the entire hard disk drive to the factory default state, or restoring only the C: drive -- without affecting other partitions (for example, a D: drive) -- or changing the size allocated to your C: drive, and then restore it.
To recover your hard disk drive from a system failure using the utilities stored on your computers HDD, follow these steps:
    1. If the computer is running, shut it down -- by clicking Start, Shut Down, and again Shut Down.
    2. Press and hold the 0 (zero) key on your keyboard and then press the computers power switch. When the computer turns on, the Toshiba HDD Recovery Utility screen will appear, presenting three options:

    Restore Original Factory Image (Recommended)
    CAUTION:
Restoring a hard disk drive to its factory default state deletes all partitions on the hard disk drive and all data stored on those partitions. All of your files and information will be lost! Be sure to back up all important files first.
    1. Press 1 to restore your hard disk drive to its original factory default state. A confirmation message will appear, indicating that all data will be overwritten and lost during the restore process. Be sure to back up all important files before proceeding.
    2. Click Yes to begin the recovery. A message will appear once the operation is finished, indicating the HDD has been restored.
    3. Press any key to restart the computer.
    * The options 2 & 3 are for advanced users.
Hard Disk Drive Recovery using Recovery CDs or DVDs
You may also wish to to run the Toshiba HDD Recovery Utility from Recovery CDs or DVDs that you have created.

Insert the first Recovery CD or DVD into your CD/DVD drive, and turn on the computer. Once the computer is running, the TOSHIBA HDD Recovery Utility screen will appear, presenting the same three options above. Again Press 1 to
restore your hard disk drive to its original factory default state. Click Yes to begin the recovery. Press any key to restart the computer.

    Installing Drivers and Applications
The TOSHIBA Application Installer allows you to reinstall the drivers and applications that were originally bundled with your computer.
    To reinstall drivers and applications:
    1. Double-click the "Toshiba Application Installer" icon on the Windows desktop. This utility may also be launched by clicking Start -->All Programs --> Hard Disk Recovery Utilities.

      htd7c02140000r0136067.jpg

    2. Click "Next".
    3. Click the item(s) you wish to install. To select multiple items, hold down the Ctrl key as you click your selections.
    4. Click "Install".
    5. Follow the on-screen prompts to complete the installation process.

    Hope this helps.
