Fix #1: Remove the batteries from the camera, wait a few minutes. Put a fresh set of batteries back in (preferably rechargeable NiMH 2500mah or better) and turn the camera on. If that didn't work, try pressing and holding the Function or OK button while turning the camera on.
Fix #2: If the camera's batteries ran down completely while the its lens was still open, the camera may show a lens error or not start properly when new batteries are installed. Remove the memory card and keep it removed, then install the new batteries. When you turn the camera on with the card removed it may come back to life, as this triggers a reset in some cameras. Error E30 (for older Canon's) means that you don't have a memory card installed, so turn it off, slip in the SD card and turn it on one last time

What program are you trying to open them with? If you right-click them, you can choose which program to use.

The error you are receiving, is a lens error. If the camera is still in the warranty period, i would suggest that you take it back to point of purchase as soon a possible.

Unfortunately, it is a very difficult task to take apart your camera to get to the lens. The problem is probably that the lens itself dislocated from the socket it runs in. Can you hear a faint noise as well?

THe best advice i can give you is to take your camera in for repairs. I have worked on Lens errors myself, and, if not done correctly, you will end up with a totally useless camera.

This repair will cost you about $40 - $50 including labor.
Kodak will also give you the trade in option, where you will be able to trade in your camera, and buy a newer model for 30%- 40% cheaper.

A repair. There is a fault within the lens mechanism.

Please also try to upload new firmware: I doubt that it will solve the issue, but the alternative is a repair.

Connect the camera with the computer.
Turn the camera on.
Click onto the link and follow the instructions.

IT DID NOT RESOLVE AFTER PUTTING NEW FULL CHARGE (AA) SIZE BATTERY EVEN , WHEN I TURN ON CAM IT SHOWS ERROR 20E 1,0,0 AND SHUT DWON.

show it your service provider

try these:-

• connect it to pc and on it
• vaccum the barrel of lens
• changing mem. card and batt. for 2min.
• shake it.
• on and off in different positions
• hit the part near lens softly with palm (trust me this made mine work)

ok, mine did this and the lens semmed to be bent side ways
if yours is like this you can do like me (and this worked for me) and just apply brute force to the lens untill it is back in place ....
