The waste ink absorber is in the bottom of the printer.You can't find it without to disassembly the hole printer.Make sure you reset correctly printer.Look here.

1) With the printer powered off but connected to a power source,
press the Power button while pressing and holding the Stop/ Reset
button.
2) When the Power is lit, press the Stop/Reset button two times while
pressing and holding the Power button.
3) When releasing the Power button and the Stop / Reset button
(regardless of order), the printer will move into a service mode.
(Waiting for menu selection)
4) When the on/off lights in green, press the Stop/Reset button the
specified number of time(s) according to the function listed in the
table below.(Each time the Stop/Reset button is pressed, the LED lights
alternately in orange and green, starting with orange.)note: press 4
times for waste ink counter reset.

To reset waste ink counter at printers canon pixma MP150, MP160, MP170, MP180, MP450 and MP460 there any 2 choice, that is :
Start with printer on then run this software
Click Reset Main (main) to reset waste ink counter and then click Reset Platen button (additional)

printer powered off but connected on power source , you must: 1. Press & hold stop/reset button, and then press & hold [ON/OFF] button. 2. When Green power lit, leave stop/reset button & press twice stop/reset (see orange indicator). 3. Leave On/Off button. Printer in actually service mode. 4. Press stop/reset 4 times (see orange indicator) if not blink restart above process from top. 5. After press stop/reset 4 times successful press On/Off button 3 times. printer will off. 6. Press On/Off button.
Hi this works with some canon priters try ir codes for reset:
1. Press and hold the POWER button 2. Turn off the printer by disconnecting the printer power cable, 3. turn on the printer, still holding the POWER button The indicator (L.E.D.) should be green. 4. Press and release the RESUME button , the indicator (L.E.D.) should be orange. 5. Press and release the RESUME button again, the indicator (L.E.D.) should be green. 6. Release both buttons. 7. Reconnect the printer cable. 8. And it should be reset.

Turn off the printer ( "Power"

Hold the button "Resume" (red circle in the triangle), add a printer
(click "Power") - an indicator light green.
Hold the "Power" button, release the button "Resume".
Not releasing the "Power" button, double click "Resume" and
release both buttons.
Four times click "Resume"
Once you click "Power", to confirm the selected action (reset counter
absorber). To disable the printer "Power" button to click again.
