Sometimes my mp3 will just shut down. If I hold the power button down for a minute release then hit power again it will restart. It's really a pain in the neck. Is there anyway to fix this?
The player has a sleep timer - change the auto shut-off option 180 minutes or so - it will only shut off every 3 hours in that instance - read your manual for more specifics

it sounds like a process when shutting down your phone is crashing. try a factory restart if you have nothing to lose 1/ Switch off the phone (either removing the battery or shutting down by holding the "end call" button for few seconds 2/ While being switched off, hold the "home" (house) and "back" (the arrow in the lower right corner) 3/ Hit briefly the "end call" button" while still holding the "home" and "back" buttons. 4/ Release the "home" and "back" button, a white screen containing technical information should appear, with a red message asking for hitting the "menu" button. 5/ Hit the "menu button", the Hero will now boot with factory settings.

Power down the Canon Pixma IP4300. Once it has shut down, leave it off for a few moments. Hold down both the "Resume" button and the "Power Button." When the printer begins to restart, release the "Resume" button but continue pressing "Power." Push in the "Resume" button twice, then let go of both the buttons. In a moment, a green light flashes a few times. Press the "Resume" button four times once the green flashing has finished. Push the "Power" button again until the printer shuts down. Wait a few seconds, then press the power button again to restart the device. The Canon Pixma IP4300 will now function properly. for more information http://www.fixyourownprinter.com/forums/printer/67824 hope this helps you.

Make sure there's a battery in the player. This doesn't work when it is plugged into the USB port.
