How do I change my original message on the answer machine?

Which Uniden DECT 6.0 phone do you have? Uniden makes several models.

For one Uniden phone that I know (DECT-1080), first make sure that the answering system is on. If needed, at the base press Ans On/Off. From a handset, press Menu/OK and use the redial and Phone Book keys to navigate through the menu to AM Operation. Press Menu/OK and navigate to Ans Settings. Press Menu/OK and navigate to Answer On/off. Press Menu/OK and then choose On and then Menu/OK again.

To set the Out-Going Message, again go to the Ans Settings submenu at the handset, and navigate to Record OGM and press Menu OK. Select OGM 1 or OGM 2 and press Menu/OK. Record your message after the tone. To select the OGM message to be heard by incoming callers, navigate to Select OGM, press Menu/OK, select the message and press Menu/OK.

Please note that you also need to make sure that the system isn't set to Announce Only in the Message length section. Enter this submenu from the Answer Settings as above. The choices are 1 minute, 4 minutes and Announce Only.

You can also do set the OGM from a touch tone phone remotely. Press * as the OGM plays and then enter your PIN. Press 06 and then 1 or 2 to select the OGM to edit. Then press 9 to return to the main menu.

However, on the DECT-1480, you set the OGM from the handset but in a different combination. Press Messages/Mute then 5 (or wait for the announcements to end). Press 8 or press the Caller ID/right arrow to navigate through the menu to 8: Record New Greeting. Press Menu/Select. Wait until you hear "Record greeting" then speak your message normally. Press 8 to end and listen to the playback of the greeting. Press End to save the message. (Select the desired greeting by pressing 6 instead of 8.)

Most Uniden DECT phone manuals are available from the product page or this list: http://www.uniden.com/bin/venda?ex=co_disp-view&bsref=uniden&scat=dectphones_mnl .

If you provide your model number in a comment, I'll be glad to give you the specific directions for setting the OGM on your phone.

I hope this helps.

How do you record your own ogm on a Tesco ARC 402 ansa machine phone. I have a pre recorded message but want to change to a personal message

press PROG, use the up and down keys to select TAM (stands for telephone ansa machine) then select ANSA and Record, then OGM, then personal. The phone will immeaditately start recording so you need to be ready to speak, when you're done press the green phone/ok button to finish. then press the red button until you return to the main phone screen. now press the OGM button on the base unit and you should hear your OGM personal greeting.

How do i change outgoing answer phone message

Solution for Fax1360, if this does not work please let me know as this process should be the same.

Recording an outgoing message (OGM) on an external TAD 7

Timing is important in recording this message. The message sets up the ways to handle both manual and automatic fax reception.

a Record 5 seconds of silence at the beginning of your message. (This allows your machine time to listen for the fax CNG tones of automatic transmissions before they stop.)

b Limit your speaking to 20 seconds.

c End your 20-second message by giving your Fax Receive Code for people sending manual faxes. For example: 'After the beep, leave a message or send a fax by pressing *5 1 and Start.'

Recommendation: recommend beginning your OGM with an initial 5-second silence because the machine cannot hear fax tones over a resonant or loud voice. You may try omitting this pause, but if your machine has trouble receiving, then you must rerecord the OGM to include it.

Bought second hand i how do I change the answer phone message to mine?

Hello. I have located the owner manual for your phone and I will provide the link at the end of this response. If all you wish to do is change the outgoing message to your own, do the following:

The OGM is your announcement to the caller and may be up to 2 minute in length. If
you choose not to record your own OGM, the caller will hear a prerecorded OGM. Use
your OGM to advise the caller to begin talking after a beep is heard. For example:
“Hello, we are unable to take your call right now, please leave a message after the beep,
and we’ll return your call as soon as possible. Thank you for calling.”
Recording your OGM
1. Press .
2. The total number of (new) recorded ICM’s will now be announced.
3. Press 8 to stop playback.
4. Press 4 5.
5. Record your OGM.
6. Press 8 to stop recording.
7. Your OGM will be repeated after a few seconds. Repeat the same procedure if
you wish to change the OGM. Any old OGM will automatically be erased when
a new one is recorded.

please rate my answer. thanks. Regards, Joe
