Television set wont turn on .

I have this 5 yo RCA P52960. A few days ago it started to shut off by itself. Finally it gave way and stayed off. When the power button is pressed it makes a clicking sound twice in short succession, as in when a tv is turned on and off real quickly.

From reading the previous posts, it would appear that I have a damaged flyback transformer.

Firstly I would like to know how expensive this part is and an average cost of fixing it.The relevant numbers are as follows:

MODEL - P52960
SERIAL - C295C50FB

i moved my tv to another part of the room, and tried to turn it on it clicked twice and nothing,its a mitusbushi wide screen,any suggestions

my tv clicks when is plugged into wall and it doesnt turn on anymore

I would disconect the front control panel you can do it by opening the back of the unit on top of the light box there is a couple plugs just unplug the one going to the front panel then try to turn it on with the remote

You have a flyback and horz output bad,price for this repair should be around 150.00 to 175.00,you also may just have a loose connection on the main board,if so price would be much less,because the flyback would not need replacing just the output

RCA 52 inch projection Model P52960

solder connections around the flyback most likely. That is a common fault with the PTK and CTC chassis. Hope this helps.

Sounds like you need to unplug the set for about 5 min. and let it reset,this should return your sound
