The Casio DR-T220 does not use regular adding machine tape, it requires a thermal tape since it is a thermal printer. There is no ink or ink ribbon in this caculator, it is heat activated and it is the special paper that make the numbers appear. Thermal tape is available at all office supply stores.

I feel like a ****** but I can not figure out how to feed a new roll of calculator tape through the DR-T220 calculator. I see the picture inside but it doesn't help.

Put the roll in and feed the loose end up and actually all you need to do is put it between the two pieces of the hinge top. it is a thermal printer so it does not need to be fed like a regular calculator...it took me a few tries before I figured it out.

Place the tape between the two posts; then put back portion of cover down followed by the removal front portion - press feed button and it should feed. Remember it will only print on thermal paper ----

Casio DR-T220

Turns out the incorrect type of paper was being used. The paper needed is the paper that is sensitive to pressure and this paper was not.

Printing problem

Try resetting the calculator. There should be a reset button on the underside of the machine. Press it with a pen and that should clear the E that is on your display.
