The answer is simple if you want to listen to mp3 on your system and you purchased dv290 dvd changer you also need dv290 sound processor as they were coded - for example you have dv250 system with dv250 chager and sound processor you are only going to be able to see dvds and cds if you swap your changer to dv290 (plays mp3, audio ,wma and dvds) you also need to purchase dv290 sound processor as well - no need to change your amplifier or tape deck (the ribbon on the tape deck will be compatibile)
the lower end units were incompatibile with higher spec changers same when it comes to EH series if you have eh780 sound processor you are only going to be able to plug 780 changer or lower 760 770 etc... but 790 will not work with it unless you get 790 sound proc
Have a look on the back input panel of the sc-dv290. Check for a "PHONO" input. If there is no phono input it will not play turntable. If there is: then plug it the turntable in and switch the SC-DV290 to PHONO mode.
Another way would be to purchase a "phono preamplifier" from ebay: Hook the turntable into the phono preamplifier, and the preamplifer into the SC-DV290 AUX input.
i once had a panasonic dvd player which displayed the same code H02 and
used the same drive mechanism as your player. this turned out to be a
worn spindle motor and once replaced, all worked fine. you may well
have the same fault. hope this helps?
I think your dvd is set to a different region. This might help:
1. Insert disk
2.Wait for 'no play'message
3.Immediately press stop
4.It wi go to chapter review automatically in about 5seconds time u should be able to press play and start the movie
did you buy your system in adifferent region and moved with it to another? I heared something like some DVD players are region-locked. I could be wrong but google about region-lock... try this among others: http://dvd-player-software-review.toptenreviews.com/what-is-dvd-region-lock.html
u can get 2 cables this is wot i do as my dvd player bit broke. 1 cable from laptop 2 tv and u n get another cable the u put in the ear phone bit an then it has 2 ends u put in the back ov your stereo. you can then watch your dvds in srnd sound and the the music u have saved on your laptop
