Hello,
To make sure that results are always in decimal format, put a decimal mark (point) at the end of one integer.
ex: 1./2 or 1/2. or 1./2. display as 0.5, so does 1. + 1/2
To convert from decimal to fraction and from fraction to decimal press a b/c
To convert from proper to improper fractions use [SHIFT][d/c]
Hope it helps.

[SHIFT][MODE][6] then enter a number between 0 and 9. That will fix the display to the number of decimal digits you chose. If number is too small it will be displayed in scientific foramt.

    Press [SHIFT][MODE][2:LineIO]

I have a Casio FX83ES Scientific Calculator and I am trying to work out 1 out of 1700 as a percentage using it. When I type in 1/1700 I get 1 over 1700. I press S<>D and then I get...

1÷1700 expressed as a decimal is 0.000588235, which is 5.882...×10^-4. [NB not 10^4]

To convert this to a percent, remember that "per cent" means "per 100" which also means "divide by 100". To keep the answer correct, if you are dividing by 100 you must also multiply by 100.

The get the answer in percent, you must therefore multiply the previous answer by 100 to get 0.00588235 percent. (or 5.882...×10^-2 percent).

Problems with fractions on the Casio fx-115es

Hello,
To convert fractions to decimals or decimals to fractions, you use the [S<->D] key. Each time you press the key the result is displayed in the other format.
Alternatively, If you multiply or divide two integer numbers put a decimal mark at the end of one of the numbers (any one). The result will be displayed in decimal format.

Hope it helps.

How do i get the answer of a simple arithmetic in decimals?

There is a button there that says "S<=>D". Compute it first and when the result is in fraction, press this and it will be in decimals. This button is just above the DEL button.
