Want to install xcsoar on a navigon 4310 pna. put the xcsoar program on a micro sd card, can't get it to work.

Do you get a different result if you turn on the unit with the SD card not installed? If so, then you may be able to solve the problem by installing an SD card with a known good program and map file(s). In that case, obtain an SD card reader for your computer if you do not have one. If your computer can read the SD card, make a backup image of it, then install a file set on it.

If the cannot be read, then you will need to reformat it and restore the original map files or try to install a new map image file to it.

In you are unable to install good application and map files on the SD card, you may have to get a new SD card from Navigon.

I own a navigon 2100 as well. Very nice device and you can install the 5100 software and the 7100 maps and points of interest. gpspassions.com is the best resource for 2100 help.

Try this:
Hard Reset Procedure - if the PNA is on, press the Power button until the unit goes off. Press again and hold the button down - the screen will come on and after a few seconds go off again. Press the Power button again and the screen will come back. If you get the opening "music", you know the Hard reset was successful.

If you leave the memory card out and keep the unit powered on, you will after a few 10's of seconds go into the Demo mode. When you reinsert the SD card a soft reset will occur (equivalent to pressing the recessed button on the left hand side) and the unit will initialize into whatever the SD card tells it to (see below). .

Sounds like the sd card is beginning to give you a problem, if you can find another sd card or just buy one, (they are less then 20 bucks now) copy the software from the original sd card and put it onto the new card. This should clear up the problem since it sounds like the cards lock is worn down to much for the sensor to feel it.

I got mine back up and working by doing the following:
1st Icopied the files on the SD Card to my pc (for backup)
2nd I deleted all the files on the SD Card
3rd I went to the following link https://www.navigon.com/site/us/en/my_navigon/unauthorized/products_us

and download the update for Navigon 2100 and installed it.

Tested it and it no longer gives me the fatal error.

I woulod think the data is corrupted or not in ther format the GPS is expecting. redownload the data to the PC desktop and see how it is organised

Well after many emails to Navigon I got the fix for my 2000s What you have to do is download the 1.2 version software for the 5100 install it on a 2GB micro SD Card. Put it in the slot and turn it on. You will have to regester as if you have a 5100 but it will work. The reason you have to use a 2GB card is the maps are to large to go on the internal memory.

The SD card does not need any installation, just put the 2GB MicroSD card into your LG phone and it will work straight away.
This phone need Micro SD cards (smaller) and not regular SD.

The software on the micro sd card is corrupted. You need to get a new software image

I had the same problem with my unit.

Did you try to reload ALL the files back to the memory card?

This as a slow process,but it seems to go a little faster if you use a card reader.

Format card using FAT option,not FAT32.
