Error 2 When I try to print, E 2 flashes and nothing will print. Both cartridges are brand new, so that can't be the issue. I've tried re-plugging everything in and re-installing the ink cartridges. Is there anything else I can try?

Hi Does the Same hinge problem cause it not to print?? Because I have the same cover open issue. and when my x6570 will print nothing comes out on the page?? and its brand new ink?? Im pretty frustrated

The error could be due to the cartridges not properly installed on your printer. Try to open the printer cover and remove the cartridges > close the printer cover > re-brick your printer by pulling out the power supply - the black box where the power cord is plugged into. Re-plug after 30 seconds. > when the printer turns on, reinsert the cartridges.
Try to print again to verify that the problem is fixed.

Cartridge Error .... help!? I've read all the other replies and it's not helped!

Just make sure you are using a genuine Lexmark cartridge and not some remanufactured, refilled or clone cartridges. Please follow the steps below to identify and fix cartridge issues:

  1. Make sure the printer is on.
  2. Open the printer cover. The print cartridge carrier moves and stops at the loading position, unless the All-In-One is busy. Note: If the carrier does not automatically move to the center, turn off the printer or unplug the printer from the power source and then carefully slide the carrier to the center.
  3. Remove both cartridges from the carrier.
  4. Close the printer cover.
  5. Re-brick your printer by pulling out the power supply - black box behind the printer where the power cord is plugged in to, and re-plug after 30 seconds.
  6. When the printer turns on, reinsert one cartridge first. Close the printer cover and check for any errors.
  7. If no error appears, reinsert the other cartridge. Close the printer cover.
  8. Replace whichever cartridge is causing the error to appear with a new genuine Lexmark cartridge. Try to print a document again to verify that the problem is fixed.

My Lexmark x8350 has suddenly come up with Cartridge Error, Error #1203. I've followed all the remove cartridge, power off, power on, reinstall steps, but no good. I think it's the colour...

Hi Alan I think it is the cartridge that is causing your issue but I cant promise that it is.I can tell you from many years experience it very rarely is an issue with the printer breaking it is 99% of the time inferior consumables causing printers to fail, and sometimes wrecking printers so even when the customer does use good consumables it is too late and the damage is done, but we can't be sure of anything unless we start with basics and get 100% brand new Original Equipment Manufacturers carts (OEM) and stick them in. (no I don't work for Lexmark;)

Black printer ink in HP Printer may fail to be recognized by the printer. Most times an error message will be sent indicating that something is wrong with the black print cartridge. Sometimes the printer may accept to print with the black ink, but the printouts may have horizontal lines and very illegible letters. In such a case a manual cleaning of the print head should be carried out. In doing the manual cleaning, one should spray Windex heavily on paper towel and wipe off the surface of the print head.

I had this same exact problem. Try doing:
1. Unplug the power cord from printer.
2. Hold both o.k and Cancel simultaneously.
3. Plug the power cable while holding the buttons.

I had to go through multiple tries of the solution above. I turned it back on, it shut off and I turned it back on again. I tried to print something and sure enough, it did a maintenance cycle and it works again.

This did not work the first time but after 3-4 times of doing both, TA DAH, it went through a lengthy maintenance cycle and then started working. Persistence paid off
