Dryer starts but goes off as soon as I take my finger off the start button

The dryer starts but goes off as soon as i take my finger off the start button. i replaced the start button and the timer control and the problem still exists. It will run if I keep the start button depressed.

    Someone thought it was the relay motor. will give that a try.

    Changed out the relay motor switch and it works fine now. Thanks for the idea. Good luck to all and thanks.

    I have exactly the same problem of "Dryer starts but goes off as soon as I take my finger off". Can you please let me know how to get the relay motor switch and change it? Much appreciate your help. Thanks!

    Kenmore dryer, I push the start button, a humming sound starts, sounds like something trying to engage, then everything stops

The starting capacitor has low storage of current some are open or shorted , need to replace the starting capacitor.

    Mostly any kinds of motor , starting capacitor or some internal problem of the motor are the starting winding are grounded or burn .

hi your on/off switch has broken down you will need to replace it it will cost you about £4-£8 it is fairly easy to fit good luck if you need help just ask.
