If you mean 'randomly HEAT', then I would suspect the control panel. There would be logic to detect the control touch and convert that into a signal to the controlling system that applies power. If the touch panel is faulty, it may signal for power intermittently.

Did you put medal in the micowave, may have burned out the unit?

Go to the Electrolux website on your computer and look up the model of your range. Th owner's manual should give you what you need...download it!

Most likely it's the switch or element that's bad. Unless you wish to call service, start with the switch since it's probably cheapest of the 2.

first try putting pans on top and see what they do you should not operate these type of eyes with nothing on them as you will burn out the sensors in the eyes if nothing is there to reflect the heat back to them if it does the same thing with pans on them then you will have to replace the elements

Check the power plug is their any separate plug on it / if none check the control panel some switch to power on .
