Hp 2300D Message reads 'order cartridge less than 100 pages.' Cartridge ordered but can't get printer to print again. Tried rebooting entire system, just the CPU, just the printer etc. TIA!

Hello,
there is 3 different ways to solve this:
1. remove cartridge and replace it again
2. you have problem whit cartridge e-label (printer can't "read" it) - replace cartridge
3. E-label reader is dirty or broken...bad, visit HP authorized service

Must be an aftermarket or refilled toner cartridge. These toner cartridges have a chip on them that must be changed when refilling or remanufacturing the cartridge. It looks like you got a cartridge where the chip has not been changed. I would return it for another cartridge.

1) If you replaced it with a refilled cartridge you may need the "latest" version of the cartridge in order to print with refills. See this link for more information: Updated HP 61 301 122 and 802 Ink Cartridges

If this cartridge is from their monthly print program you will not be able to refill it and taking it out and replacing it in the same printer can also through an error code.

2) Have you tried turning off the printer, unplugging it "FROM THE WALL" for three minutes and replugging it back in and turning it back on?

3) If one or the other cartridges have electronic problems, it will not print.

4)If an update was done on your printer software? Sometimes this will not allow you to use anything but HP. However, sometimes if you use an genuine HP and then go back to the refill it will reset it and work again.

HP 4015x and I get an insert black cartridge error. Not sure what I should be replacing on it or what to check on the printer.

This error is most common when your toner cartridge has reached it's end of life. Sometimes it will alternate with "This cartridge has reached a low threshold error" which indicates you can keep printing but need to order a new toner cartridge. See page 155 of your support manual for more on this error.

If you have installed a new toner cartridge and receive "Remove Shipping Lock Error" that means you have not removed the protective strip on page 118 step #5.
You can order new toner cartridge from HP PartSurfer or retail merchant where printer purchased.

Message in LED is ''Remove and check color cartridge''

It means that the printer has detected a problem with the color cartridge. If it holds multicolors one could be empty & the cartridge must be replaced in order for it to work. Best advice would be to try a new cartridge and see if the error message goes away. Hope this helps.

Printing black on the entire page.

Have you tried to change the print cartridge as black print is usually down to the print cartridge faulty. The other possibility is that the cartridge contacts are dirty or broken.

Page count unreasonable

Re you using genuine HP NEW cartridges? If not, you must make sure that whoever has re manufactured the ones you are using has replaced the chip on the cartridge. This tells the machine how many copies are on the cartridge.

Error message ?incorrect black cartridge?

You can get this message even when the cartridge is the right one, but the joints are covered in ink. Try the following solution- fill a bowl with hot water (not boiling hot), 3 mm high, remove the cartridge and place it so only the joints are submerged in the water, for a minute or 2. Dry it well, clean the joints again and place it in the printer. Good luck.
