I have a kenmore elite refrigerator. Am trying to figure out what wattage is necessary to start/run to buy an appropriate size generator. Don't have a manual. Any suggestions?
Looking at the label on the inside of the fridge it says 4.5 Amps, 115 volts, but probably have a seperate motor for freezer? We found a clearance generator that is 2000 watts.. want it to power the fridge and space heater/fan depending on season...Looking at the label on the inside of the fridge it says 4.5 Amps, 115 volts, but probably have a seperate motor for freezer? 2000 watts is 20 amps so you should be all set. and as you indicate there are some variables depending on temperature etc.2000 watts is 20 amps so you should be all set. and as you indicate there are some variables depending on temperature etc.

The calulation of max wattage is going to be 750 watts at start up and be around 500 on normal running wattage after start up so a 1100 watt generator should be fine.
There is a placard inside the refrigerator with the model number ect. The amperage or wattage should be posted there. If it's given in watts, just divide that number by 120 to get the amperage.
Though I received no FREE support from FixYa (as advertised), after a restless nights sleep I figured out what to do, as I discovered in the morning my refrigerator had indeed stopped running. Just to provide some background info, this new Kenmore refrigerator was larger than the one it replaced, however I managed to accomplish a near impossible task and squeeze it into the same space, thus it was there to stay, because moving it in and out again was an unlikely task. Back to the solution. I decided I should try turning the refrigerator on and off. Since I could not locate any controls inside the refrigerator which would turn it off, my only option was to pull the refrigerator out of its very tight space and unplug it, which is exactly what I did. After 60 seconds I plugged the refrigerator back in and ta-da!!!, it refrigerator started running and the control panel stopped cycling and held the initial settings. I have to admit, I have not attempted to push the refrigerator back into its space, as that is not a feat I'm ready to face. I hope this common sense solution helps others in need, although they probably will figure it out on their own much faster than I did. Have a GOOD day!!! Regards, Ann
You said, you have the Kenmore Elite Trio Bottom Freezer. You moved your refrigerator
to a new home and removed the bottom freezer door, but can not seem to
figure out exactly how to put it back on correctly.
It's too much for me to tell you myself. This is easier! Page 9 shows you how to remove and reinstall doors.
