To determine if it is the switch, remove the wires from the back of the switch and touch them together, if the lights come on, it is the switch. You will have to contact Weber for a new switch.
I assume, that since you tried everything you could think of, you also checked the electrical outlet it's plugged into, to see if it's still working. And the circuit breaker for that outlet hasn't been tripped.
I took a look at the Owner's Manual for your model and it's pretty extensive on how to operate the unit. But, admittedly, it doesn't have much of a troubleshooting guide.

i was having a simalar problem and was trying to replace the ceramic fuse with a glass one and it wasnt working. i have found the part number for jvc if you want to try and order the ceramic fuse from them and try that. QMFZ059-1R0-E its $8 after shipping.
did you check thermistor, I think that you have a problem with thermistor, not only thermoswitch! what about black copy - did you check is expo lamp (under the original glass) is lighting or not, if not - it's normal to have a black copy!
