Steam generator iron spitting out dirty water

I have a philips GC 7320 steam generator iron only 4 months old, but it spits out dirty water ever now and again. I have tried flushing out with clean water, but that hasn't helped.

Try vinegar. Unplug from power, fill and let soak for a couple hours. Then rinse and see.

SOURCE: tefal proline express steam generator iron needs de scaling

Make a solution of half water and half white vinegar. Fill up your iron and get it good and hot then let it sit a couple hours. flush out and repeat as necessary. Hope you find this helpful. Please give me a fixya rating If this works for you. It works very well as long as it is not completely filled with scale. Once you have it good and clean By a gallon of bottled water at the market and use that for your Iron and you will never have a scale problem again. I learned how to do this 20 years ago from a 80 year old woman from england. If it is really bad you can up the vinegar concentration but do not go higher than 2 cup to 1.

SOURCE: dirty water in my iron

The dirty water coming out of your iron steam holes is caused by the accumulation of 'dirty' tap water: if you look inside an eletric kettle, you will see the same 'dirty' muddy brown mineral residue on the inside. In addition, if your iron is old, it can also be rust. It is a pretty common problem that can be minimized by using distilled water. You can get commercial steam iron cleaning fluid to clean the inside of your steam iron or you an simply use vinegar: 1) with a cold iron, fill the reservoir with straight vinegar 2) Place your iron on top of a metal kitchen rack above your kitchen sink, turn iron on and let it steam out all the vinegar: it should spit out the whitish mineral and muddy brown deposity. 3) Refill iron reservoir with clean water and repeat as of step 2. 4) Refill iron reservoir with clean water, wipe any dirty from the sole plate and this time on full steam, iron on clean layers of Kitchen paper to ensure that all dirt has been removed from the inside of the iron reservoir, if not, repeat from step 1 again.
In the future, try to use distilled or at least filtered water.
Hope it helps: let me know how you go!

How do i prevent my black and decker classic iron from spitting out how water after I have used it for a while?

Cheaper irons may steam better using distilled water. Minerals in water can cause this due to build up inside.

My iron is getting hot but giving no steam can anyone advise

If the iron heats but steams improperly, inspect the soleplate and clean the vents (see below) and flush sediment out of the steam chamber (see below).
If the iron produces too much or too little heat, test the electrical cord . Also test and, if needed, adjust calibration of the thermostat .
If the iron does not spray properly, inspect and clean the nozzle (see below).
If the iron leaks or spits, clean the steam vents, nozzle, and tank.
If the iron sticks to fabric, clean or repair the soleplate. If the iron stains fabric, clean the soleplate, clean the tank with a commercial cleaner, and use distilled or filtered water.

Hi, Brown water and whitescale are often the result of the water you use in the iron... If you have scale, white vinegar will clean that... For brown water, empty the iron, rinse out the insides with bottled water, and then use the bottled water instead...

Iron spits out rusty water. The iron is a Rowenta

Fill it with a mix of 50% white vinegar and 50% water. Let it set for 30 minutes and steam it out for about 2 minutes. Unplug it and dump it. After it cools colpletely, fill it with water and steam it out. The rust is coming from your water supply, not the iron.
