I love my Bose 321 DVD system, but a few days ago, it started acting weird. I put in a DVD, and it reads - "No Disc".....and I'm not sure why. I cleaned the disc, and I also played a DVD/CD Maintenance kit - I'm not sure what is wrong. It seems like I have a problem within the system - what can I do?
I had the same problem listed; send an email to BOSE tech support - they sent me a DVD with a bios upgrade and it fixed the problem. They should put the BIOS upgrade on their website so you could burn your own DVD rather than waiting for the mail. But it did fix the problem. Netflix disks were the worst; they must do something when they burn them to get that forced Ad to play that Bose doesn't like.

Now lawyers and their ilk are going onto websites looking for potential lawsuits. Pathetic!

Have the same problem. It starts to load sometimes, goes through about three minutes of playing then stops. I also have cleaned the lens and disks to no avail. Do I need to send it in to Bose for repairs??
I'm having the exact same problem with mine. I put in the DVD and it spins and spins then says no disk. I think it is a system problem and not a user problem. I've tried the cleaning process and that helped for about 2 seconds and went back to the same problem.
I have the same problem. Display says NO DISC when a new DVD is placed in machine. Strangely enough some old DVDs will still play , even ones that have been copied by friends. any ideas???
DVDs play for max a minute or two and then the unit turns off. DVDs play fine in my computer. Other DVDs play fine.
I am an investigator with the law firm of Meyer & Associates. We are investigating a potential defect with the Bose 321 system that causes the DVD/CD to lock up, present error messages and fail to eject. If you are experiencing this or other problems with your Bose system and would like to assist with our investigation, please visit our website at www.dmlaws.com or call 1-866-827-6537.
What a problem child this system is! Shuts off by itself, will not eject the CD/DVD and amazingly it changed to DVD region 2 by itself! Now I cant use the DVD player att all! Anybody??
I have had the exact same problem. New discs and now some old discs too, once loaded will just stay with 'loading' on the screen, sometimes 'bad disc' will come up on the screen too!. However apparently in most cases all you have to do is call 'Bose Technical Support' on 0870 741 4500 and quote them the Seriel No: of the bottom of your 3-2-1 unit, they will send you a 'Software Update Disc', which you simply play in your 3-2-1 and it will update the software therefore enabling it to play all types of disc.......i am assured this will work in most cases. If it does not however you will need to send it off to 'Bose' for a more through inspection!!!.
We too have the 'No disc' problem. Has been working OK until now (some minor problems that were intermittant. But now everytime we put in a DVD we get to 'No disc' message.
Mine is having the same problem with not playing DVD's and failing to eject.
We had the same problem and called Bose. Their technical support was great, but they couldn't help. I taught myself to fix it and would be happy to help you too. Email me at [email protected].
I'm having the same problem with my Bose 321 unit: insert a cd, then it goes through a continual "Loading" message and then it goes to the "Bad Disc" message. I've unplugged everything thinking that might reset the box.....but no luck. Any ideas on resolving this issue as this just started happening within the last week? Thanks!
Same problem here. Sez "loading" for about a minute, then "bad disc". Especially true on Netflix dvd's and rentals. New discs usually play fine.

My problem is that dvd sound plays but TV indicates no signal
Ive had my bose 321 for a couple of years, but its not playing any disk now, always displays "no disk"
I have the same type of message. Sometimes in the middle of a movie it will stop and say disc error. Drives me up the wall that I put $900 into a system that cant play store bought DVD's.
It just started last week. First it started with no voice audio (background was there but not people talking) I could change from video to dvd and then it would work again until I hit pause etc and I had to go through the process again. Now when I put in a dvd there is a long time loading message and then it shows bad disc.
I put in a dvd and just over half way through it stops and says disc error. Â I have to eject the disc, close the door and go to the chapter where the disc stopped and it will play again for a few more minutes then repeats this process. Â Is this covered in the warranty?? Â Seems to be common.
I am having the same issue. The movie will play fine, and all of the sudden, the Bose 321 errors "Cannot read disc".
Yep, I get the same error message (Cannot read disc) every now and then, I thought it was happening with burned discs, but Blockbuster and other legitimate discs will experience the same problems. I am pissed that I have to use my $30 Coby DVD player in place of the $1000 spent Bose 321. It will play the same disc without a problem. Is there an update to fix this?
The problem I'm having is when I switch to the DVD the HDIM impute is showing no signal found, yet I can hear the sound portion of the DVD but no picture.
