How to deregister a handset without the base with which it orginally registered. The reason is that that based was destroyed in fire, only the handset survived. Can anything be done to make the HS become workable again. Model uniden 2315

  • Anonymous Mar 23, 2008

This works with Radio Shack's 5.8 GHz digital handset #43-5561 too! I was about to return the handset to the store because it wouldn't register with my previously purchased base station. Looks like the unit I bought on sale was a "return" that was never deregistered from its previous base station. As such, it would deregister or register to my base unit. This reset process worked. The display showed "EEPROM/RAM CLEARED!!" and then it went back to its factory default condition (asking to be registered to the base). Thanks FixYa and jho1668 for this tip!!!!

This solution worked but with a few modifications for the TCX800 handset. You need to press the upper right key next to the display right after you plug in the Batt. Hold for 15 seconds then release all buttons and press all buttons again and hold for 5 secs. Release then press upper right button again by ityself. Check the EEPROM is erased. It weill say OK. Press end and it will reboot and then ask to be registered. Place in base unit and it will register.

YOU MAY NOT NEED TO ERASE THE MEMORY!

On the Uniden DECT 1560 - *Look* at the option *under* DeRegister Handset - for "Base Unavailable"

Choose that if you cannot communicate with the base. I didn't see the option and erased the memory on a handset I didn't need to.

I need to deregister a DS6101 without the base. I needed to replace the base and once we installed the new base, the extra handset that we had registered with our old base shows the following message...

Called the manufactuer.... To do this enter on the handset you want to deregister:

*331734# and press (Menu Key# 1 - top uppermost left button that is unmarked).

This will put the handset back into the register mode.

Hope this helps,

I bought some handsets but they were registered to another base. How do I deregister without the base

First, select Deregister HS from the main menu. Secondly, press the red phone button and the # key simultaneously for about 5 seconds to finish deregistration. You will then see a message telling you to place the phone in the cradle of the base unit to register it to your unit. An "operation complete" message will confirm that the handset is now registered and ready to use. Good luck.

I have a Pansonic kx-tga270s that is registered to a base I do not have. Is there a way to deregister it.

you dont need to deregister it if you have not registered all 8 hand sets with your base unit. Just register the new one and the base will assign a new # for this new. I you had registered 8 hand sets with your base already, you need to remove(deregister0 one handset from your base(it can take only upt 8).
If it still not registering please deregister as follows:
on the base unit, press program, them mute, then enter 335#, then enter the handset number you wish to deregister.
after deregistering try to register your new hand set.

I need the base id for a vtech house phone model number 6772

It sounds like you are trying to register the handset(s) to the base. Once the handset is charged, if you see 'Searching for Base' on the display,(The bold is for your question specifically but I thought you may like all of the information for getting a phone hooked up) ON the Base unit press MENU, scroll down to Display Base ID, press OK, and the Base ID code will display. If NEW appears in your handset display, press the soft key under it and enter the base ID code you found in the base display. If 'New' does not appear on your handset, press MENU and then scroll down to REGISTER. Press OK and then enter the base ID code. If the handset is already registered, please deregister all then register again. To deregister a handset which is registered to the base model 20-2431, Using the soft keys on the base, press the 'MENU', then press the down arrow once until 'SETUP BASE' is highlighted. Press 'OK'. Press the down arrow 6 times, until 'DEREGISTER ALL' is highlighted. Press 'SET' . If your handset is registered to the base model 20-2481, Using the soft keys on the base, press the 'MENU', then press the down arrow twice until 'SETUP BASE' is highlighted. Press 'OK'. Press the down arrow 7 times, until 'DEREGISTER ALL' is highlighted. Press 'SET'.

NEED TO DEREGISTER LOST HANDSET

The "END" and "#" key combination can be used for several purposes:

1) If wanting to use an ALREADY REGISTERED HANDSET on an alternate base, and if if the INITIAL BASE isn't available to deregister the handset:

1a) Press "END" + "#" until it for 5+ seconds (wait for it to beep)
1b) Choose the "Base Unavailable" option
1c) That'll deregister the CURRENT HANDSET so that it can be re-registered on ANY base.

2) If a BASE has a handset registered to it which you no longer want registered but the registered handset is missing or broken:

2a) Grab another WORKING handset which is properly REGISTERED to the BASE in question
2b) Press and hold the "END" + "#" key for 5+ seconds (wait for it to beep)
2c) Choose the "Deregister HS" menu option
2d) Pick the REGISTERED HANDSET # to de-register. (Every other registered handset EXCEPT THE ONE YOU'RE ON will appear in the list!)

DeRegistering a Damaged Cordless Phone???!!!!

I have a Panasonic KX-TG6700 base unit and KX-TGA670B handsets. We had a similar problem where we were no longer able to deregister the handset using the handset itself. We wanted to be able to use that slot that the broken phone was still occupyng. The solution that we found in the manual online was to hold down the intercom button for 3 seconds until the "in use" light turned on. Then press and hold the number of the extension you want to deregister until it beeps. At this point the base unit has freed that extension.
