I have a 42 inch LCD rear projection Sony TV. I came home one day, turned it on, the green light blinked on standby for a minute, then went to full power, but I have no picture, the screen is completely black. What has happened? Did the bulb go out?

Hi, Replace its lamp as existing lamp has been reached at end of its working hours life and need to replace to solve this issue. Please note lamp is not not broken or dead yet so you do not see lamp light on tv front. Lamp replacement procedure is easy and written in user manual. Please buy Sony original lamp for god picture in tv. Thanks.
Sony has had alot of problems with the light engines

Does the green light begin to flash when the picture disappears? If so, you have a weak lamp causing your TV to shutdown the picture. Replace the lamp with an original Sony lamp as the aftermarket lamps are known to have problems such as early failure and low brightness. Please be sure to rate this solution. Thanks!
the tv will try to reboot a few times. just let i try and eventually it will start blinking red. if you could count the red blinks then i can further assist you.
