I bought a Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-S40. I've taken a few pics, but none have been too impressive. I bought the camera because I do watch repair and sometimes I need to ask questions on message boards and a pic helps with the question. All I need the camera for is taking pics of movements, parts and complete watches. Lots of up close pics and of very small parts. I'm not too interested in printing my pics, but I do plan to save them. Any ideas for a book on how to take good pictures, as opposed to many books that explain software, or printing? I'd like a book which explains ISO, when to use the flash, how to position a tripod, etc. I've looked at these books: Complete Idiots Guide Digital Photography Like A Pro 4th Edition The Complete Guide to Digital Photography 3rd edition Digital Photography For Dummies 5th Edition I haven't found too many reviews of these books. Any opinions? Thanks, Paul R. flash does not work
Hi, actually, apart from learning how to shoot good pictures, it is also a good idea to enhance photo quality and edit photos to produce stunning effect. Here PhotoIns will be recommended. Photo Enhancer is a professional and AI-powered photo enhancer to improve your photo quality in batch. It can automatically and intelligently analyzes and perfects your photos with AI technology, including face enhancement, color enhancement, lens correction and more.
Leawo Photo BG Remover is a professional and one-stop photo background remover to automatically remove background from image. It can intelligently analyze the clipping edges, precisely enclose the region to cut out elements, and magically remove photo background. Besides, it also supports manual adjustment to remove photo background more precisely.
Have you set it to macro mode? (little flower icon on the right cursor) this function will allow you to get within about 2cm of the subject, however do not use the zoom as the lens cannot focus close enough. To get results any closer you will be looking at an slr and a budget on a few thousand! If enabling macro and not using zoom to allow the lens to focus doesn't get you close enough in you can always enlarge and crop images. have a look on www.picture-skew.blogspot.com i've taken some macros of flowers and bugs, this camera can capture the hairs on an ants back or the individual lenses of a flys compound lens eye.
persevere with this camera, for a very small budget you will get amazing results, ISO refers to the speed of 'film', it comes from the dark old ages of 35mm film cameras. Basically a low ISO is the lowest sensitivity to light and gives the best image quality, however as the ccd is less responsive to the light the camera holds the shutter open for longer. The higher the ISO the more sensitive the ccd but the greater the noise and lower the quality of picture.
Books, try looking for more photography orientated books and less digital camera based books. An upto date photography book will tell you all the technical information about how to take a good picture for any given senario.
