Canon MP480 printer prints enlarged text and shifts page margin

Hi,
I have a Canon MP 480 printer and I installed it on a mac. When printing a word document, the bottom margin is extended downwards and the text is enlarged. I tried scaling it down to 90% and this solves the enlarged text problem but the bottom margin is still a little low.

I also tried resetting the margins under "borders and shading" but they reset themselves back to default when open "borders and shading" again.

The default setting for margins are Top: 1, Bottom: 1, Right: 4, Left:4

Thanks for your help!

SOURCE: printer does not follow margins indicated

Ahhh Vista - has a lot to answer for , is this another little glitch I wonder? Would it be possible to save a document to disk and print it on the printer from another XP computer for example - just to check things that way. I do suspect that this is a program thing and not the printer.

SOURCE: Left side of page cut off printing from Outlook 2003

Hi there,
Have you try to Copy paste the content of Outlook to Word and then try to print.

As Outlook have lesser option to set for printing. And may not possess all the features to print it correctly.

Let me know if I can assist you further.

Remove print head canon mp480

THe print heads are an integral part of each cartridge. When you remove the cartridges you actually remove the print heads. You will need to open the top front panel to access the print carriage which moves left and right over the paper under it. Using cotton swabs you can apply rubbing alcohol to the places the cartridges rest upon and absorb all the dried out ink. Be sure you toss the old cartridges out before you reassemble. If you need to store any ink type printers REMOVE ALL CARTRIDGES and clean off the receivers on the print carriage!

How can I reverse the order of printing pages?..I have a Cannon and MAC

When you click print, and IF a Print Window opens, then it should allow you to click a button on that window to change the Print Properties. There should be a choice for "reverse order" and you just need to unclick that choice.

Starts to feed paper and then stops and says it is jammed, it's not.

We have become aware of an incompatibility between the ZoomAlbum software and the Canon PIXMA printers listed below. This issue applies only when using the ZoomAlbum software to print Photo Album covers with Mac OS X.
Affected Models
PIXMA MP240, MP250, MP480, MP490, MP560, MP620, MP640, MP980, MP990, MX320, MX330, MX860, iP3600, iP4600, iP4700 Printers
Phenomenon
The affected PIXMA printers are designed to feed paper via the rear tray with a center-feed mechanism and two paper guides. However, the ZoomAlbum software was intended to feed paper from the rear tray in printers with a right-feed mechanism and a single paper guide. As a result, when using the ZoomAlbum software with Mac OS X to print Photo Album covers with the affected Canon PIXMA printers, the printed image may shift.
adv_zoomalbum_1.jpg Countermeasure
To remedy this problem, please use the following settings when printing Photo Album covers with Mac OS X:
1. Click System Preferences
2. Click Print & Fax
3. Select your Canon PIXMA printer as the default printer
4. Select DL Envelope for Default Paper Size in Page Setup
Note: Be sure to change the Default Paper Size back to Letter after printing the cover.

How do I hook my canon 480 printer directly to my wireless router to make it a network printer so both of our laptops can print. 1 mac & 1 pc ???

First, plug your printer into your router and turn on both the router and the printer. Second, on your mac open System Preferences>Print and Fax>click the plus sign below the list of printers, you will be guided through the process to set up your network printer. Now to set up a printer on Windows XP click here, Windows Vista click here. Windows 7 and vista are pretty much the same set up.

My canon pixma mp 480 scanner printer will not scan, I have installed the drivers umpteen times but it keeps saying that sscangear driver can't be found HELP please

You say you have reinstalled the drivers umpteen times. What may be happening is you have a corrupt driver issue and when you reinstall, the program sees the driver there already so it doesn't reinstall over it.

Follow this link and try Canon's solution of uninstalling the drivers and then reinstalling them...

I can't install the cd rom on my computer i have a macproduct is pixma mp480

I don't know if I understood your problem correctly: you have a Canon Pixma MP480 and you want to install it in a computer with MAC OS and the CD that came with the printer is for Windows systems?

CANON has drivers and software available for your printer and MAC OS X. You can dowload them from PIXMA MP480 Photo All-In-One-Printer support homepage .

On that page, clickon the "Drivers & Downloads" tab and then select your operating system to get a list of compatible drivers, sofware and manuals.
Download the printer and scanner drivers compatible with your system, from "Drivers" section and select and download the software you need from the 'Software section".
For help and troubleshooting installation issues, click on 'Support & Service".
If I misunderstood your post and you have a different problem, please comment and I will try to help more.
