We also have vertical lines with our JVC 62"... turning it off and letting it cool down is the only solution. For us, we know it's a problem with heat. We simply are wits end on fixing it. added two additional fans, a exterior fan to blow heat away from the back of the tv, pulled everything else away, etc.... Anyway, goodluck.

this is a very common occurance in these sets. toshiba has issued a servece bullteen with this set. Sorry to tell you this but this is a problem with some very small capacitors on what is known as the hypermodule. in my shop we fix 2 to 5 of these a month. you really have to know how to solder. Idealy replace the hypermodule is the best way. but......that board is hard to find. so we replace these 11 very very small componets with twezzers and a big magnifier. we charge about 250 to 350 for this repair.

I just did a repair on one of these. Check your picture-on-picture. If the the secondary picture is clear, chances are very good the problem is on the "hyper board". We d not replace the hyper board - we repair it. The board is very expensive and rarely, if ever, available. There are several parts in the module that need replaced, but these are definitely not user replaceable. They are very small surface mount components and even I have lifted a copper or trace or two doing these. It is tedious work but our repair bill was well below $300. It is also something I do not do in the home and taking it to the repair facility is a money saver. I did go to the home on this one and remove the board to the shop, however they only lived a few miles away so the service call was low priced. Hope this helps...
