Maytag side by side fridge freezer leaking water

Water is leaking from the back of the internal wall vent and running out of the freezer door. Every two days there is a small pool of water outside the freezer door. Inside the freezer door there is a collected pool of ice with run ice coming down from the back lower wall cooling vent, down to the bottom floor of the freezer and out of the freezer door. The lower vent appears to have a 4" by 10" aluminium try behind it which is covered with a thin layer of ice. It is this ice that is running through the lower back wall vent. I can not remove the lower back wall as it is frozen in place. I have rearranged the stored food to ensure that there is ample circulation, but to no effect. I have placed paper towels at the bottom of the freezer to hold the collected ice for a longer period. I remove this every few days at present.

Your drain plug within the evap area of the freezer is frozen, turn frig off, let sit for day or two with doors open. Once all ice has melted then take rear freezer evap cover off and pour water into try and make sure it drains, if not then unplug drain. This is usually caused by a defrost heater bad or unit not going into defrost when it's supposed to, may be main board.

Testimonial: "Good advise thanks. Used hair dryer to defost ice. Found that drain pipe was blocked up with dust/flotsome. Everything working fine now ;-))"

Maytag fridge side by side freezer door leaks water

If the insulation in the door has blown, it cannot be replaced. If there is a dispenser in the door, look at all the plastic parts for any splits or leaks. To test if it is the dispenser, turn off the water supply for a few days. If the water stops collecting in the door it's a good sign.

Refrigerator leaking water

This sounds like the water line from the icemaker and the cool water reservior inside the refridgerator side. The line is a rigid plastic hose and could be a leak at one point that is small enough to allow water to run along the line. Also sounds like you have a humidity problem. Check the door seals and wipe them off and apply a thin coat of die-electric grease to the seal. this will help keep it pliable and soft.
The water in the bottom leaks into a trough that is made into the fridge. This usaully evaporates, This is for the auto-defrost. It keeps the water from getting on the floor.
Check to see if the outer door gets hot at the edges. If not, It may not be auto-defrosting.
I would first check the water line first as this seems to be a more serious issue right now. The line is probably loose at one of the connections between the ice maker and water reservior.

Lynx fridge freezer the freezer is working the fridge has stopped

check if there are frost at the back of the freezer wall, if there is then you have a defrost issue.

if not, check the vents if air is coming out on the fridge side. close the freezer door, press the door switch on the fridge side and feel the air. if there is no air, the evaporator fan could be shut.

if there is little air, check the vent, insert a small rigid wire, push the vent or flapper open and make the air stronger. you have a vent controll problem.

if there are ice in the vent, thaw it out and hope it won't freeze again.

Ice build up in bottom of freezer

Check the ice maker. sometimes they get cracked a will leak water into the freezer compartment. Also check the ice maker fill tube for leaks or someone could have spilled something. Although this is tipical of a clogged drain. What happens is when the fridge go into derfost, it will melt all the frost that is on the evaporator, turning it into water. The water drains down to a trough under the evaporator and down a drain hole in the trough ( this trough is behind the evaporator cover ) Removing the melted frost from the freezer. If that drain is clogged, the water cannot leave the freezer. Then when the fridge starts back up ,it will freez the water that was not drained. After repeated defrosting the water will fill this trough and run off into the bottom of the freezer to be frozzen when the fridge starts to cool again.

Internal water leak Amana AT5518SW

King, you probably have a defrost drain port that is frozen over. When the unit goes into defrost it's running through the air damper instead of going out the drain line. Therefore you get water into the refrigerator section. You can verify this by removing the evaporator cover in the freezer and checking the drain hole. You can clear it by running hot water into it. You will have to remove all the built up ice from water that did not drain in that area...Catriver..post back.
