For sure, the file system is corrupted and is the cause of your woes. The fix lies with the Philips Songbird software. If you do not have Songbird, download it for Windows or Mac here:http://www.usa.philips.com/c/mp3-media-player/22126/cat/en/#/difference/philipssongbird.

Once you have Songbird installed, launch it and select "Repair my Philips device" in the Tools menu. Select your device and follow the instructions specific to your device. For example, instructions for the GoGear Vibe are to disconnect the device, power it down completely, and hold the volume-up key during and after USB connection until the message window disappears.

If the repair utility endlessly indicates it is checking for updates, you are likely using an out-of-date version of Songbird - probably the one that came with your GoGear. If this describes your situation, launch Songbird and select "Check for updates" in the Help menu. This will at least get you upgraded to version 1.9 (currently), even though the latest version is 1.11 (currently).

Instructions that came with some older versions for connecting GoGear in repair mode were incomplete. They left out a crucial step of turning off the GoGear and waiting for it to power down completely before reconnecting in repair mode. Newer versions of Songbird include the ability to reformat the device, reset the device, and to get progress updates during synchronization.

If you've found this information helpful, please indicate as such.

IBM Travelstar usb 2.0 - when connected to pc get error msg - problem with drive need to scan - WILL scanning ERASE FILES THAT ARE STORED ON THE usb drive

the scan is just a program reading the files and folders either in the computer or storage device
normally it is done by the security program ( windows fire wall) or what ever program you have installed
it reports on any problems found and waits for your decision
if you run a system check, that is different as it will rectify any program faults as it goes not files or folders
it is always advisable to scan usb sticks when installing as that is a favourite way that hackers get into a computer
although the usb stick may be in your control all the time , downloads from your own computer can transfer a problem via usb stick
As for your concern---scanning will not change any files or folders but will report on any faults to you

From what I can find, it would seem your Xbox one is having trouble connecting to the Microsoft servers. It could be because of increased traffic, or an issue with your internet speeds. It is also possible, that the services provided by Microsoft, are not ready yet. It happens a lot during the first while of release of a new system. The PS4 is having simmelar issues.

New songs= black screen

try to remove the battery, wait 30 seconds and replace it
this should reset your sansa,

a real hard reset isn't possible,
you can format it though
warning, this removes everything

To format your Sansa E200 series MP3 player:

1. Open "My Computer."
2. With the player plugged into the USB port, right-click on the player (if in MTP mode) or the drive letter for your player (if in MSC mode) and select "Format" from the right-click menu.
3. Press "Start."
4. You will receive a warning that the format process will erase all data on your device.
IMPORTANT: Make sure you have backed up all of your data from the device before continuing with the format. Procedure will erase everything off the player. Agree to the warning.
5. The format will complete. Close the format window and your player should be ready to use.

After the format, please install the latest firmware update for your player. Please visit the following link to download and upload the Firmware on your Sansa E200:
http://www.sandisk.com/Assets/File/Downloads/firmware/e200fw01.00...

PLEASE NOTE: All files will be deleted. Backup your files. Your MP3 player must be in MSC mode before installing the Firmware update.

1. When the player is turned on, press the “Menu” button.
2. Navigate to the “Settings” menu.
3. Navigate to “USB”.
4. Under the “USB” menu, go to “MSC”.

My sansa e280 shows error!!!!help here

Go to Device Manager, and click on each usb port indivdually, and then click on update drivers.

If that fails:
Go ahead and do this, in case the DB is corrupted:
Format - Erases Everything: Connect your Sansa player to the computer and open Windows Media Player. Click on the Sync tab. Pull down the drop down menu underneath the Sync tab by moving your cursor over the Sync tab and left clicking on the little black arrow underneath the Sync tab. Highlight "Sansa 1GB" (wording may vary slightly), and then select "Format." - this should erase everything.
Firmware Upgrade- Erases Everything: Get the latest firmware upgrade from Sansa - it updates the firmware and erases every song in the player all at once. Note: this method doesn't work if already have the latest firmware. Go to this website and click "Firmware Updater" to find out: http://www.sandisk.com/Retail/DriverDownloads.aspx
