White lines 1/2" when printing

Cannon multi function mp830 - I had paper jam, finally got it cleared from underneath, now printing leaves 1/2 inch white lines alternating with print lines. I use this to copy, fax, and sometimes connect to my laptop to print from computer. What is my problem?

Sounds like you may have damaged the printhead or the printhead connections.

I'd recommend removing the cartridges and then the printhead and check for any obvious signs of damage or soiling on the base of the printhead and/or on the back of the printhead. There's also a series of contact plates in the carriage unit (the bit the printhead and cartridges sit in)... These pins can become damaged.

Finally... if the process of removing the jam involved a lot of pulling and shoving you may have damaged the feed mechanism... Hard to know without seeing it so worth checking that some paper and/or ink hasn't soiled any of the calibration strips and is causing the printer to get "lost".

Appreciate the above is a bit technical but start with the printhead and work your way carefully through, looking for anything that might seem out of place or "odd".

Hope that helps.

Martin

Why does the printer keeps having a paper jam fault on final exit slot?

It sounds like the exit sensor is sticking, so the printer doesn't know the paper has exited & throws a jam.

What is error 6A00 message on cannon MP830

Print Head Cartridge is locking, how to fix:

1. Opening the cover and wait for ink carriage to center
2. Pull out power cord
3. Pushed carriage to far left (should slide easily)
4. Used paper towel and wiped purge unit a lot of times (press down to soak paper towel with ink). Repeat until the paper towel is relatively clear.
5. Used diluted napisan (oxygen-based cleaning agent in the ratio of 1:3 with powder:water) and soaked paper towel
6. Repeat step 4 with wet paper towel. Repeat until purge unit is near-white.
7. Pulled and pushed clear plastic wiper (north of purge unit) and wiped it down
8. Slided carriage back to original position

On printer screen it is showing Error 6A00 and error code. Whats does this mean and how can I fix it

In my IP 3000 during a print suddenly on the 3rd page, a big "crunch" sound. Paper was jammed - error 5100 or smthg, and managed to remove the paper... but then error 6A00 came up. I found this post and was saved. Manually moved the print head left and right, turned the printer on/off. Still the same error. Then I noticed a piece of torn paper lodged inside. Removed that, got inky fingers, and finally got printer in working condition.
Try to clean any foreign object inside.May be it can help you.

Printer reads error

Hi
Hope you come back for this
The 6A00 is a Canon generic code for paper path jam.

Solution 1:
Move the printhead carriage back and forth a few times.

Solution 2:
Check the purge unit: Moving the print head assembly will not clear a purge unit if its jammed with paper, paper clips, push pins, screws, cookie crisp, flower bud pods or the like.

Solution 3:
Press the ink pads down in the purge unit.
