If you would like to play AVI files, then you need to play them to the players that support AVI format. Here are some AVI players for you to try such as Leawo Blu-ray Player, 5K Player, JetVideo, UMplayer, SM Player, etc.

Hi. Try playing it with VLC media player. It has tons of built-in codecs so you don't have to download and install them separately. Here's the download link:
http://vlc-media-player.en.softonic.com/

Download the vlc-1.0.2-win32.exe file, install, then play your video.

Hope this helps.

Ive formatted my 8gb flashdrive to fat32 and then put avi files on it to plug and play in the usb slot but still says 'file not supported'. how can i get my avi video files to play on tv ?

AVI is just a format - the video inside it can be coded using just about every codec. That sharp supports files that are coded using DIVX 4 to 6 and XVID 0.8 to 1.3. You must make sure that the avi files were coded correctly. For that install this program and use it to check the files

Media players cant play my .avi movies. i copied a .avi movie from my friend's pc using a flash drive and moved it into my personal pc but my media players wont play it. it did not say it was a missing...

I assume you are using the Windows Media Player to play the .avi formats on your OS Windows PC?

If this is the case, you do not have the necessary "codecs" to play the .avi files. Download & install the latest codec package ie K-Lite Mega Codec Pack or K-Lite Codec Pack @ http://www.free-codecs.com/download/K_Lite_Mega_Codec_Pack.htm

Hope it helps.

Codec problem. cant play .AVI files. thanks

I'm sorry that you're having trouble playing your .AVI files. I recommend using GSpot (free download at http://download.cnet.com/GSpot/3000-2248_4-10381198.html) to identify the necessary codec, then search with Google to find and download the missing codec.
Alternatively, I highly recommend the VLC player, which has been able to play everything I've fed it, without issue. It's also a free download (http://www.videolan.org/vlc/).

I have download a video file i cant play

So do you use Windows Media Plyaerto replay some videos? I afraid WMP can not support all of video format, and there is nothing wrong with your computer. You can download the code or download the Leawo Free AVI Converter to convert your video to avi and then replay in WMP.

Avi file

Please down load and install the latest version of media player for your version of windows. or you can download and install winamp with its video plugin which will play .AVI file easily. Also make sure that you have installed correct display driver for your hardware. Normally no video codec is required to play original .AVI file. I think you may have a DV video fire (.AVI) file. This will play if install the DV video codec. Media player classic will play most of the formats.
