Check the fuel/oil mix ratio you are using. Some Ryobis use a 32:1 mix and some use a 40:1 mix. There isn't much difference there. To be on the safe side, if you machine is possibly running or tuned a little "lean" I would start off with about 4 oz/gallon oil to gas mix. Use synthetic 2-stroke oil also. Your machine will perform much better.
Look at the bottom of the head that you wind and it will tell you the direction to rewind the new line. You can download a copy of the owners manual from www.managemyhome.com

You need to push the primer button 10 times or so (the button at the top of the speed control) to get the gass pumped up into the system again. Likely gas not getting through the line yet. Takes awhile.
