Am afraid the Power Surge (when the power came back on) has damaged the unit and there is no "Reset" to these printers. You would need to replace the control board but as its a power surge there is a reasonable chance that the power supply will have been damaged/weakened and this will lead to a shortened life span of the printer. I would throw it away and replace with new. sorry, ( I am not a salesman either)

you have to chk the setting on the print setup.

Agree with pcfixup.ca. Remember the software on a pc overrides the printers actual settings.

You could fix this in the printer, but faster and easier to alter your program's printing function. Check that you are using the correct form template, and either delete one line from your data, The program may be issuing a line feed, or modify the form dimentions.
print on blank paper until you get it dialed in. Hold up to light and lay labels over or under it to see alignment

Label Length Calibration
Note: This is typically the only procedure required when first installing the labels.
1. Load the printer with media and ribbon.
2. Press the printer front panel MODE key until the CALIBRATE LED is lit.
3. Press the FEED key and allow the labels to feed.
4. When the labels have stopped press the MODE key once to save the value in memory.

it sounds like you have the wrong driver installed was there a printer on the pc before perhaps and it is picking up that driver ??

sound like a parallel connection.
Try this:
open a dos command prompt and type this command:
dir>lpt1

this would try to print through the dos mode if you connections is good it should print something.

Try setting the page lenght using the printer panel
To do this, enter MENU mode by pressing SHIFT+MENU
press GROUP button until prints REAR feed or BOTTOM feed ( depend on where you load the forms from )
Press ITEM button until it prints form length
Press SET to change length as required
To exit, repeat SHIFT+MENU

you have to set this on your computer. when the print box comes up you need to choose the label catagory to make your printer print labels just right
