Vsx 305 surround sound

I am having a problem with my receiver. First the receiver light wolud not come on --by this I mean by the standby light. A friend of mine reset the receiver and now the stand-by light is on but when you press the power button the stand-by light goes off as if you turned the receiver completely off. Is there a way to reset the receiver? My fuses are ok.

The stand-by light is supposed to go off when you power on the receiver. You should get the display light and you should have power on.

A few seconds after turning on the pioneer vsx 305 the display shows the message "Poweroff". Happens everytime i turn on the receiver. Disconnecting the other devices and speaker cables wont reset it or correct the problem. How can I fix this?

Hello - Our Pioneer vsx-305 display screen doesn't light up anymore and we are unable to get it to work even though the on/off button appears to operating correctly (red standby light comes on). T

It is likely failing due to age.Cold solders fail, corrosion can cut a connection, a capacitor can harden and fail... a myriad of things can happen in time. Repairing it will cost more than an inexpensive replacement. The same receiver can be had on ebay from $60 up (with shipping). It is a cost benefit issue at this point.

Pioneer vsx 915 blue light flashing

Time for a repair shop to look, clearly the amp is down, it has failed. Have a qualified tech look at and get a repair estimate.

My pioneer vsx 815 amplifier has a flashing blue standby light. Have tried resetting by pressing enter and advanced surround keys. All it does is flash a few other LEDs and then goes back to the flashing...

"enter and advanced surround keys"? I don't see that documented as a special function in the manual.

BTW: other than the Flashing light, is there a malfunction?

Page 72 describes how it REALLY resets...

Resetting the main unit

Use this procedure to reset all the receiver's settings to the factory default. Use the front

panel controls to do this.

1 Switch the receiver into standby.

2 While holding down the TONE button, press and hold the STANDBY/ON button for about three seconds.

3 When you see RESET? appear in the display, press ENTER .

OK? shows in the display.

4 Press SYSTEM SETUP to confirm.

OK appears in the display to indicate that the receiver has been reset to the factory default
settings.

Blinking Standby

regarding the Pioneer VSX-912 blinking standby light. This is how you reset it; press the "advanced surround" and the " enter" at the same time for about 3 seconds. Make sure you press the ENTER on the reciever (its the one on top next to the small dial) If you press the "ON" instead of "ENTER" it will not work. If an error message comes on and shuts the unit down, just reset it again. This should save you some $$$$. To bad Pioneer did't put this info in the manual.

Receiver just blinks standby will not power on

I have been so bummed, days now I have tried to get my Pioneer receiver to power on from standby with no luck.  We now have our receiver back, the same solution worked for us. Be sure to push the buttons on the receiver unit not the remote.  Thank You! Thank You!
