i got the same problem with my ym 11 too.. but honestly looks like its ym problem that it may just work whenever it want to.. :( but try this.. open Yahoo Messenger click on "Messenger" (on top), choose "Connection Preferences" select "Connect via Proxy Server" try to log in ..
if it doesn't work put it back to the original settings, same instruction go to YM, click Messenger then Connection Preferences select "Connect directly to the Internet".. this time try to disconnect your internet connection first.. and then with your YM open enter your username & password but dont click "connect" yet.. connect to internet & log in to ym (you should click "connect on ym right after a second you are connected to the internet)

You can download version 10 on your computer and then update YM, running the setup. You cannot have 2 versions of YM on your computer.
If you want to connect to id's at a time use the following:
You have to use a multi messenger registry and after you run that registry you will be able to open Yahoo Messenger how many times you want. Here is a link for the specific registry:http://www.softpedia.com/get/Internet/Chat/Instant-Messaging/Yahoo-Multi-Messenger.shtml http://messenger.ro.im/ym-multi-messenger-for-ym-9-beta.htm On the second link scroll down and look for "AICI" and click on it to download. If you need further assistance, just leave a comment. Cheers
There is no official release of Yahoo Messenger for Linux anymore. However, you can chat with your friends who use Yahoo Messenger by using a Linux chat client such as Empathy or Pidgin, both of which are available in the Ubuntu software center.
If you have Messenger 10 you will have the sign in troubleshooting facility to narrow down the possibilities. If you have AVG free edition, there is a known conflict and you will have to contact AVG support for assistance ( Try signing in with AVG disabled to check this out )
try reporting it to yahoo and explain wat ur issue is and in detail. ive had results from yahoo that way. and also if ur calling another country on the pc-pc then there might be some interfierence there in between the person ur calling and u.
