there are several fixes to this problem 1. replace pickup asembly 2. Clean the rubber pickup band are roller with a rubber cleaning compound (not alchohol0 alcohol dries out the rubber.
This is a common problem with printers and faxes, Paper has a tendency to leave a glass glaze on the pickup rollers therefore causing the paper to slip on the rollers are to be misfed thus causing a paper jam

There should be 2 switch actuators sticking up underneath of the toner cartridge, maybe one got knocked off?

I am having an issue with a Panafax uf-8000 printer. It grinds when starting up and says there is misfed paper. Don't see any.

Paper feeder sensor guide is open or displace ,So it said misfed paper.Clean sensor or right position set the sensor guide.

PANASONIC FAX MACHINE PRINTING BLACK THICK LINE

Open the front of the fax machine. Then pull down the the tray that has the down arrow imprinted on it. Locate the glass strip towards the back, just behind the center roller. Use a cloth and rubbing alcohol to clean the glass and that should remove the black line.

Remove misfed paper code J93

J93 means = paper remained in adf . sounds like you have a problem with the reed point sensor in the adf door . little black plastic arm , right side should be dangling

  1. Just check & clean the dust in the original feeding area.
  2. if not solved, clean the Document feed sensor or replace the same. But for this you need to open the body of the fax machine.

SPF misfeed light

hi im jules_09 if the misfed sensor is on there is no process that can restart,the light togo off.once again check which sensor is on,there are 3 misfed sensor in the machine 1st is in the bypass tray area the 2nd in inside the machine itself  the 3rd is at the fusing check which sensor is on better yet shieck all sensor,there just a piece of paper or something stock in thoose sensors
