It sounds like either the bulb has gone bad or the high voltage igniter has gone bad, they take around 5kv to start the bulb then run at around 60v continuous, look into the projector lense in the dark if you see the bulb flash but not catch chances are your bulb is at the end of life

From your description, it sounds like the new bulbs (that won't flash) are LED bulbs.
When you replace the stock Harley incandescent bulbs with LEDs, you NEED to add a LOAD EQUALIZER to make the bulbs flash:

The amp draw is different with LEDs, and they won't flash without the equalizer.

you can fix it the camera flash consist of a thrysistror, capacitor, flash bulb, resistor. be sure you know how to test a electronic component before dissassembling the unit

Your bulb is held on by a spring clip that goes around the base of the bulb. The plug on the back is hard to remove because you do not want to pull too hard and damage the spring clip. Using a trouble light or flash light to see, grab the rubber tab and peel the rubber cover back far enough to see the spring. Now locate tab on the end of the spring that is under neath the catch and slide the spring off the catch. Now you can pull the bulb out of the housing and get a good grip on it to pull the wire plug off the back.Grab the new bulb by the base being careful not to touch the glass of the bulb. Do Not Get Any Grease or Dirt on the Bulb. Place the bulb in the headlight, reattach the spring clip, put on the rubber cover, and plug in the wire harness. If you do get the bulb dirty or touch it by accident just wash it with some clean drying alcohol before installation.

Sounds like you might need a new bulb. I just looked up on kodak.com They have all kinds of parts but the labor to fix it can be expencive says it about $138.00 to fix the flash.

Check with Canon. There could be a fix for it and covered under warranty as well.

It is eathe the bulb or the flash circuit. if you are going to fix it yourself watch out for the flash compasitor. If you are going to send it in watch the cost. It sould be fairly cheap to have fixed.

you mean the flash is not opening or coming out of its enclosure? if its not opening up, its stucked! try inserting a small plastic card into the flash compartment. a hook is holding the flash from coming up like a door lock. its near the shutter button side; if its up and not flashing take a look at the bulb, if theres a change in color its dead already. dead bulb can be checked by shooting on autmode (the green mode), dead bulb will gonna shoot but flash wont go, if the flash circuitry is bad it wont shoot no matter what.

Is the Flash off? Turn it on Is the light bulb blown? Take it to where you got it and tell them to fix the light bulb
