Honeywell Chronotherm III

I have completely re-programmed my thermostat and my thermostat says that i want it to be 70 degrees but it does not heat, coldest I have had it without the furnace coming on and desired temp being 70 is 55. It appears that on sleep mode at 10:00 at night it kicks on and heats to my desired tem, but then stops heating and my home goes back down to 50-60, when my desired temp is still 70. I have the owners manual, I have programed it many times now, I have done the "Hold temp" I have checked the furnace and I have checked my AM/PM time settings and only "SLEEP" mode will work at night. what is going on?

Have the same problem can anyone shed some light on this? Mine is set as follows: WAKE 70 LEAVE 60 RETURN 70 SLEEP 60, it just stays on 60 all the time now. The only way i can get the program to warm up is to switch it off then back to heat then it kicks in?

We have the same heat problem. At times we were able to get it to run with the Hold setting. Now that does not even work. Thinking of buying new Term unless someone out there has a fix.

I have a Honeywell Chronotherm III Thermostat and in instead of showing the temparature in the display it shows -AC. I've replaced the batteries, and tryied adjusting Temp up and down for cooling and...

It would appear to me that you have lost the 24 volt power supply to the thermostat. In referencing the manuals for this thermostat, available @ www.honeywell.com, I've found that when the thermostat is not connected to the wall plate (plate mounted on the wall, that the thermostat either snaps or screws into), it will display the -AC. This being said, either the thermostat is loose on the wall currently, or your 24 volt transformer has died. Hope this helps.

Chronotherm Three thermostat vs Buderus Logamatic Computer.

The outdoor thermostat senses the the temp of the outside air, and adjust the boiler water temp according to what it knows is best. The reason that the boiler is running longer is the old boiler used to be constantly sending 180ish degree water to the baseboard, now that water may only be 140ish degrees. The idea behind this is to reduce off cycle heat loss, as the greater the temp difference between the air temp and water temp, the quicker you loss heat. The theory in boiler run time is this, the less times it starts and stops, and the long run times will give you the best efficiency. Hope this answers you questions.

Thermostat - Honeywell Chronotherm III

What you can do is try and clean the contacts. Open the door on the thermistat and remove the two screws, after that you can seperate the part that is mounted to the wall and the front panel. Look at the part that is mounted on the wall and you'll see the contacts that should be a copper color. They might be black from age. Clean them and you'll be surprised how well it will work after that.
