I bought this tv about 4 months ago and it turned off by itself over the weekend and will not turn back on with the remote or the power button on the tv. The red indicator light is on stating the tv is getting power but nothing else........what can i do?
I have the same problem with my Proscan 19LA25Q 19 in. LCD Television -- red power light indicating power but TV doesn't go on.
I'm going to see if I can contact the manufacturer about this.

I have the problem the light comes on but the tv is not coming. i took it to the shop and the tech told us the modula went out and it will cost over 200 dollars to fix. this tv is not worth fixing. I tried to take it back to k-mart they would not take it back. they said it was nothing they could do after 90 days. Get a power adaptor replacement with a slightly higher amperage, and make sure it is not chinese, also it might be a good idea to open the back and check the capacitors on the power supply if they starting getting domed.
These units have a separate switching power supply that does indeed get very hot. What I have found is that a 1000mF@25v capacitor goes bad in the power supply and needs to be replaced. If your set's red power light turns green for just a second and then turns back to red without the set turning on, this may very well be your problem. You can either try to find another power supply (make sure it's rated at 12v-5amp) or take your old one to a repair shop. Be very careful if you decide to try a repair yourself, switching power supplies can pack quite a punch.
I bought two tvs and after about 3 months one of my tvs would not turn on; this tv was used more than the other one that is still working. I noticed that the power cord has a box that connects the two parts of the cords together, well the box gets very hot. I thought that the problem could be the power cord (may be it burned out) and not the tv. I switched power cords from the working tv to the nonworking tv and that sovled the problem.

Try unplugging the the TV from the power outlet for 30 seconds to a minute and plug back in again. Try to turn on again. Some TV's have to be in a "ready mode" to operate by remote - so besure it is in that mode - or use the power button on the TV.
Check the power source?Try unplug, replug tv an hour later.Let the tv resetting itself back to factory setting. The tv should work now. No,LCD tv have common problems power supply board died alot. This tv is new, call Sharp for warrenty repair.
If you leave the tv unplugged for 2 days (atleast) then plug it back in and try to turn it on and if it comes on its the power supply board. If it comes back on it will probably shut off between 30min to 4hrs and you would have to unplug it for 2 days again. All the power needs to drain out of the tv. If thats the case take the back pannel off and check the part number out on the internet. Not hard to do becarefull touching things the power supply does store a little bit or shock in it. Good Luck.
This sounds like the main power board went bad. If this is still under warranty, contact 1-877-MYVIZIO and they will have it repaired for you. if not, let me know and I will guide you to the right part.
The power supply is in the protect mode. There are many things in the set that can cuase this. Most likely there is a short on one of the circuit boards, or the power supply itself has failed.
You will have to have the set serviced in order to get it going again.
