Microwave buttons not responding - microwave running constantly with door shut

The microwave was working fine, but when I went to use it 10 minutes later, I was unable to touch any buttons. The clock is out, no buttons work, but when the door is shut, the microwave runs constantly. I tried putting some water in the microwave for a couple minutes to see if it was heating, but the water did not get warm, so it seems as just the fan is running, with the interior light on. I tried switching the fuse off and then on to restart it, but it did not make a difference. I can't even keep the door shut, as the machine runs - the interior light also stays on while the door is open. What can I do to fix it? Exact same problem BUT this is a brand new out of the box never used oven. AND it happened again on replacement unit. I returned both and bought another brand.

FMV152KWA microwave buzzes when not running

Missy Uhland Bauman,

I understand that you are hearing a buzzing noise from your microwave, even though the door is shut and and it is not running. I would suggest to give the appliance a hard reset. You will do this by either unplugging it or cutting the power off at the circuit breaker for 3-5 minutes. After the 3-5 minutes, bring power back. If you are still hearing a buzzing sound, I suggest either contacting the manufacturer or your local authorized technician.

-Best Regards-

Oster ogf41101, unit display doesn't work, when

If there is no heating please do not switch on unless you have confirmed the fault. It is possible that the Magnetron is faulty, the temperature cut off is faulty or the main capacitor is short. It is also quite possible that insect can get into the oven and create soft spots. When you switch on these will create a short and make the voltage jump and in the long run damage the magnetron.
So Remove cover after disconnecting , check for dirt/moisture in the cabin, if so wipe clean and dry, check the magnetron and area clean and use an jet air to clean off.
Make sure that the program controller is working if not check power - step down supply, the pads are responding- if not faulty pads- or the door switches, if contact is not through the microwave will not work.

Now keeping clear of the microwave, switch on, use a cup of water inside to test.
If you notice any sparks shut off as the magnetron or the main HT capacitor can be faulty. replace with same type.
If there is heating without any issues, you can use the microwave safely

I have a 10 year old MH7130XE Whirlpool microwave oven. The oven and key pad both work, and the oven heats just fine. The problem is the oven begins running as soon as you open the door...without pushing...

I'm assuming you mis-typed and meant the oven begins running when you SHUT the door and stops when you OPEN the door. Please tell me this is what you meant! If the microwave oven runs with the door open, UPLUG IT IMMEDIATELY AND DO NOT USE IT!!!

If the oven begins running without pushing the start button then the controller is bad or the Start button is worn out and making contact without pushing it. (Most likely it is your controller.) Generally, it is not worth the cost to replace the controller on a 10 year old microwave. Probably time for a new one.

But if you want, you can call Whirlpool and see what they suggest at 800-253-1301.

If this was helpful, please select YES to the first two RATINGS questions. Good Luck!

My LG over the range microwave doesn't heat any more

When the microwave sounds okay, but there's no heat, one of the internal door switches, the high voltage circuitry, or the circuit board may have a problem. To resolve this problem, you need the assistance of a qualified appliance repair technician.
That said, you can get free estimates on the cost of a repair but you should also consider a replacement which may be a better option for you.

What they do not tell you about over the stove microwaves is that they are constantly deteriorating due to the steam, oil, and other cooking fumes from the stove below. As a result, their life expectancy is definitely diminished.

Constantly runs but does not heat

The circuit board is faulty. It should be covered under the warranty. Call GE or the place of purchase.

Microwave is on when you shut the door

I tried all the things on your website. Holding the clear button , unplugging,...

So I went back to the last operation that I was doing when the problem started.
I was using "reheat" so I put a glass of water in the micro turned on reheat 1 serving.
It started and then I hit clear after a few minutes and the problem went away.

Consult your manual, but it might be in demo mode. Unplug it for about 10 minutes to see if that would help.
