Our Sony Trinitron Color TV, model # KV-35V65 serial # 9006079 was working in the morning. After we turned it off and eventually turned it back on (over 8 hour period) it wouldnt come on (no picture or sound) and the red light for the "stand by timer flash" was flashing.. So we unplugged the set and replugged it back in and still no picture or sound. We made sure all the connectors were secured. Our tv is hooked up to Dish Network , so we called them to see if the problem was with the receiver but in order to check there product(receiver) the TV has to show a screen and there isnt anything on the screen except it looking like it is not on... So Dish Network couldnt verify if there product was the problem.. We have had our TV set for a long time (cant remember when we bought it). I did save the "operating instructions" and its dated 1998. It has never given us any problem until now... We already know they do not sale this set anymore. Can this TV be fixed? Is it worth fixing? The standby light flashes continuously...I have unplugged the set then re-plugged it but nothing happened.. Can I repair this myself?
Try hooking up a vcr or dvd player that you know works.The TV "thinks" it's not getting a signal. Be sure the TV's on ch #3 or #4, depending on the output channel for the vcr. If you see/hear the tape on TV you know the TV's ok and the problem's in reception, maybe a loose connection.

My TV was working fine until last week. Now it turns on for about two seconds and shuts itself off. I also unplugged it and no change. The stand by light is flashing but I am keeping it unplugged for safety reasons. Can you please advise me on how to correct this problem.
