With a desktop computer and the USB cable you can transfer music to your SanDisk Sansa MP3 player. Simply hook the USB cable up to an available USB port and begin dragging music files to the folders of your SanDisk MP3 player1 Free a USB port on your desktop computer. yes you need a computer to charge your mp3 player if you do not have a charger for your mp3 player

To charge your mp3 with a computer you should swiych it off then connect one end of a USB cord to the mp3 player and the other end to the computer (just like you want to transfer files)

The screen of your mp3 player will light up and you will see an icon or word indicating that the mp3 player is charging.

you just plug it in to your computer and syncronize it to the computer and thats how you do it!!!!

A generic procedure is :-

1. Turn on your computer. Plug the USB cable that came with your MP3 player into an open USB port on your computer.
   
2. Step 2 Turn off your MP3 player and plug the other end of the USB cable into the USB port located on top of the player. Turn on the player.
   
3. Step 3 On your computer, right-click the pictures you want and select "Copy" from the menu that appears.
   
4. Step 4 Double-click the "My Computer" icon on your computer. Double-click "MP3 player " or ' MP3 Device" in the "My Computer" window.
   
5. Step 5 Open the "Pictures" folder. Right-click and select "Paste" from the menu that appears.
   
6. Step 6 Let the files copy. Click the "Safely Remove Device" icon located on the left side of the Start toolbar at the bottom of your screen.
   
7. Step 7 Click "Safely Remove USB Storage Device." Wait for a message to appear that says it is safe to remove the device, and then unplug the USB cable from your computer and your MP3 player.

It could be the USB cable or the USB port of the computer or it cold be the device itself. Try connecting the MP3 player into different USB ports of the computer. You might want to connect it into different computer aswell.

Try using another USB cable. If you get the same problem, contact the manufacturer for possible firmware upgrade.

1. Connect the USB cable to your computer.
2. Press and hold the button while plugging the other end of the USB cable into the YP-Z5.
3. When the display shows USB Connected, release the button.
4. The device is now in USB mode.
5. When through, you must safely remove the USB device. Note: To safely remove the USB device, right click the USB icon ( ) in the bottom right of your screen, and then click Safely Remove Hardware.
   

1. Upon disconnecting the device, it will return to MTP Mode.
