I am recording our first disc on our samsung scdx 103,and when it was recordign fine, adn now after approx. 12 minutes of record time, when I press the record button it says "write error. to recover disc, please restart". I turn off the cam corder, turn on again, and the write error pops up again when I try to record again.
What discs are you using as they need to be compatible with the recorder, some discs are one time recording others are + or - and some are rewritable, there is also settings for format that have to be set for the discs.

I think i just figured it out. Somewhere else on the web clued me in that the disc got messed up (don't know how). I put in a new disc and it works. Other disc still doesn't though.

I've been trying to find out the same information. We went to disney this year lost 3 full dvd's worth. Called samsung all they told me was to use memorex mini-dvd's. Thanks alot ):

I would try the following:
1) check for an update to the image mixer software here
2) see if jvc customer support can/will help
3) uninstall the image mixer software and try using windows movie maker instead

Hi. this unit will need to be serviced by the manufacture. this is a major disk error that has occurred. there is one or more corrupted sectors on the hard disk that is used for recording. Unfortunately, you have lost all dated at this time. Contact Samsung for this repair.
