My camcorder is on a safeguard mode, how do i take it out of the mode

Please go further down on the message, you must see a numeric code, like 03, or 02. In case you'll see 03, open the cassette door(let it open until cassette come out) about 5 sec or more(make sure you have enough batt. charge or use adapter). Once ejected do not use that cassette again. Using new cassette and same thing happen, have your camera checked by the expert. Error code other than 03, you need to consult the expert. Hope it helps

01 error code - unit in safeguard mode

I solved the problem! Open the video cassette door. Look closely at the gear mechanism and see if there is any small debris in the gears. If not, using a magnifying glass and a paper clip(must stretch it out and use the tip) gently move each gear(gently). I had my unit ON. Once I moved the gear it became unstuck and ejected Mini DV cassette. I then re-inserted the cassette and it worked. The dreaded SAFEGAURD MODE message was gone and it is as good as new.

The cassette holder wont come up aoutomatically

what you have to do is ejecting the tape, and as soon as it starts to eject , close the door immediately, then safeguard mode should be gone, and you will be able to eject normally.

E04

Here's what i found. I was able to clear the message by opening and closing and ejecting the cassette. I also had to play with the battery at the same time. Keeping the cassette door open and then pulling out the battery. After is did this a couple of times i got the message to clear. I too haven't used my camcorder for some time and now that the error message has cleared the camcorder tells me that i need to clean the heads. Hope this helps. Below is the message i found that pointed me toward ejecting the cassette. An error indication (E03 or E04) appears. - (E03 or E04 UNIT IN SAFEGUARD MODE REMOVE AND REATTACH BATTERY) This massage a malfunction of some kind has occurred. In this case the camcorder's functions become unusable. - Eject the cassette once and re-insert it, then check if the indication clears. When it does, you can resume using the camcorder. If the indication remains, consult your nearest JVC dealer or service center

Safegaurd mode

Unfortunately this is a repair issue. There are several failures that can occur, none of which will be resolved without service, that create this safeguard situation. Often the fpc cable which carries sensor information to the micro has been injured and that requires repair. Good luck, magic seadog

Unit in safeguard mode

You mix te info with Write protected tapes.
Safe guard mode is caused by the motor that takes the tape out of it's case, through the mechanics and past the video head.
If for some reason the electronics detect that it's been done by too much force, the safe guard issue promts.
