Manual for craftsman 10 inch table saw model 818320

I think it is great for you to be needing the manual however most of their saws start with something like 315.1710 look for a number with a decimal then look for the manual. seems to me that the model number you have here is the motor model number. Hope this helps.

Do you know the specs. on motor of craftsman 10"tablesaw model 315228410

Is there a nameplate on the old motor? If so, it should state the HP, speed and direction of the original motor. If not, a 1/2 HP to 1 HP 1750 RPM motor with the same size shaft that will turn the blade the same as the original should work fine. From the online manual, it appears to have an internal start switch, so the wiring should be standard.

How do I set the dado width?

Dado blades come in sets with two side blades and a series of center blades to widen the cut. The no of blades put in the center sets the inital cut, and a series of these cuts can widen the cut farther. The poor mans dado can be done by a series of single saw cuts (kerfs) across a measured distance, moving the fence a small amount each time and then taking a chisel and working the waste out of the slot. For a primer on Dados, see: http://www.newwoodworker.com/hottodado.html

I bought a craftsman dado blade set but can't find the instructions and I have no idea how to use it. Is it possible to get instructions

Dado blades are used in a variety of saw applications. Commonly tables saws. The manual for your table saw should identify if the saw is capable of using this blade-set Never used dado blades in a saw that is not intended for them as this can result in severe injury to yourself and or damge to the tool. If your are unsure if your saw can accomodate dado blade please post your make and model of saw and someone will try to help you.

I have a craftsman table saw model 113.27870. I need a table insert for a dado blade. I looked on the sears website and it said parts for this saw are no longer available. Will a table insert for a newer...

Maybe you could try using the outline of the regular insert to cut a new insert out of a piece of polycarbonate (lexan) or ABS plastic. The clips that hold my dado insert barely hold it in place on mine, and I've seen other saws that use plastic.

What kind of dado blade can I use on my craftsman 10 inch table saw model no. 137.248100/ with stand

You have a 5/8" diameter arbor. You can use any dado blade that will fit. That said here's a few things to bear in mind.

8" diameter dado stacks are pretty standard for 10" contractor table saws. A dado stack is typically about 13/16" wide at most. It makes sense that the wider your blade is, the more power it takes to cut through the wood.

If you were to use the full width capacity of your Dado stack (13/16") a 10" diameter stack would bog down. A 8" stack has a faster rotation at the cutting edge because of its smaller radius. So, you don't bog down when you're making a wider cut if you use a smaller diameter.

If your machine was really underpowered, you could go down to a 6" stack which would cut your power requirements even more, but limits the depth of cut.
