Headphone problems my sansa e200 no longer plays music out of both ears anymore. i have tried multiple headphones and i cant get any to give me sound out of both ears. any ideas?

Where do you plug in the phones? if it is an iPhone. the music playing will be stopped, just to precent your ears to be damaged. When plugging in headphones, while the volume is high, the sound level can be so high, you can damage your ears. Yes damage that will last the set of your life, because loss of hearing, can't regenerate. For that reason some MP3 played, cill stop music playing, as soon as a headphone is plugged in.
Just start the music that was playing when you did lower he output volume if the music stops.

Did you try plugging in a different set of headphones? If other headphones work, maybe you need new headphones.

Try playing music from your Sansa through the computer, while it is tethered. If you can do this, it may mean that the audio amplifier part of the Sansa is broken-- Usually this means, 'get another Sansa.'

Also, try gently wiggling the headphone plug to the left and right, while it is plugged in. If you get music on and off, its possible that the headphone connector on your Sansa has a broken connection. This is a VERY difficult problem to fix (without breaking or melting something else inside the case) and also usually means it is time to get another MP3 player.

Double check that the adapter you bought is designed for stereo. The easiest way to check this is count the number of metal bands you can see on the adapter, stereo headphones will have 3 metal bands separated by 2 plastic bands, whereas mono will have 2 metal bands separated by a plastic band.
If you accidentally bought a mono adapter, this will cause sound to only play in one ear.

Plug the headphones in.

Its either the jack or the connector in the device is the problem. You can try connecting other headphone, if this works, then the problem lies on the jack of the old headphone.

I have this problem all the time with my JVC earbuds. This may sound a little gross but it will work. I put the ear phone in my mouth and **** on the end of it pretty hard. What I have found is that sweat or even wax will plug the little hole and prevent the sound from coming out.

Your MP3 file might not have any content on the right channel. Try another Mp3 file. If the problem occurs on another file check the hardware:
Unplug the headphones from the mp3 player. Try another set of headphones. If the problem occurs with another set of headphones, it is a broken player. If using another set of headphones cures the problem, try your original headphones again. Plug your original headphones back in. If the problem comes back, buy a new set of headphones.

I recently purchased a Sansa e280 and in three weeks of regular use it developed a similar problem, with music cutting out from playing in stereo to mono, coming out of one headphone speaker. Sandisk tech support told me to reformat the device and install the latest firmware, which I did, but the problem continued and occured more frequently. I have returned the player back to the seller and I shall not be getting another one. A nice Ipod alternative from Sandisk, but from what I have seen written about in forums, the Sansa e200 series appears to be buggey with problems.
