You can buy a degaussing Tool at radio Shack. I they don't have it on stock you can probably order it. It a a round circular tool with a cord you plug into the wall. It works basically like an audio demagnetizer.Be careful to follow the instructions carefully. If you don't, the tool will not work right.

Somehow the screen got magnetized. It needs to be degaussed (demagnetized) with coil tool that puts out a big magnetic field. All TV shops can do this for you quickly. The TV itself has a degaussing coil built right into it and everytime you start it up it does a little degaussing - that's the kind of 'boing' sound you hear. Might be able to get rid of your bullseye by turning the set on and off a bunch of times. On the other hand, if the internal degausser circuit has failed and stays on too long, it may be the source of the problem.

Asus laptop screen distortion comes up while on laptop multicolored rectangles all over screen

This problem is either your Display or Graphics card inside the laptop. Initially this is a hard ware issue screens can be replaced, if its the Graphics card/Chip then this is a full board out and replace quite expensive either way.

Display screen has a bulls eye

This description has physical damage to LCD display. If the screen has been pressed on by an object or finger too hard this is the out come. Softly press your finger tip on the screen and move it. If the 'BULLS EYE' follows your finger the LCD display is the culprit. I suggest you contact Hummingbird in Alabama for the repair. ROLL TIDE!

I can't adjust my scope! An it's driving me crazy!

I have a simple solution which will take two shots for bull's-eye. You will need two people you set your sights on a bull's-eye after the shot what you will do is hold your gun or rifle steady at the bull's-eye while the other person moves the cross hairs on the scope to the bullet hole

I painted sign plywood with Bull's Eye primer, left it dry until the next day, then painted with latex yellow exterior semi-gloss. It will not dry

Bulls Eye should be oil or shellac based
& may not be compatible to cover with latex

Read the bulls eye label

I would shellac any knots, then prime with oil
based primer twice, in different directions,
then you can cover with either

If an archer has 30% possibility of hitting a bull's eye; how many times should he try to have a 99% chance?

Think about the problem the other way. The archer has a 70% chance of missing the bull's eye with any one shot. The odds of missing the bull's eye with both of two shots is .7*.7=.49. The odds of missing with all three shots is .7^3. So, how many shots must the archer take so that the odds of missing with all of them are less than .01?

Playing around with logarithms gives us log n = log .01 / log .7 or
n = 10^(log .01 / log .7)

Putting this into the calculator (you didn't specify the make and model, so I can't give you the exact keystroke sequence) gives a value of about 12.9 for n. Thus the archer should take at least 13 shots in order to have a 99% chance of getting at least one bull's eye.

The same answer comes out if you use natural logs instead of common logs.

Toshiba Satellite Laptop with distorted picture

Hi there again.
Yes it does sound like display drivers although it could be the bios graphics controller or the graphics chip so keep an eye on the startup screen for the same thing. In the meantime right click on computer, select manage from the sub menu, then select device manager, it will generate a list of devices, click on the + icon next to display adapters, right click on one from the drop down list and select uninstall, restart the pc and let the operating system re-install the drivers automatically, this should hopefully resolve your problem.
Please keep an eye on the bios/post screen because that could be an indication of more serious issues.
I hope this sorts out the problem for you.

Kind regards and thanks for using FixYa!!

Vertical multicolored lines covering the whole screen

Just a shot in the dark, but if you are using component video cables, double check that they are in the correct inputs and outputs. If this doesn't work or you are not using component video cables then I don't have any other ideas as of now.

No Blue

The bulls eye is what us TV repair guys call it. It is a perfect description. The tube is good. The automatic degausing circuit is not working because the black square thermistor D805 needs resoldering on the bottom of the board. You will find that a magnet will affect it, and a degaussing coil will make it look perfect for 1 week. Soldering the thermistor is a permanent solution.
