The light with a cord "plug" on it indicates that there is power coming to the vacuum. This is normal.
Assuming that the vacuum works, but not the power nozzle, turn the PN over to view the brush. Clear all hair, thread, fibers, etc., that may be wrapped aroung the brush. Use a sharp knife or scissors to cut through them for ease of removal. Make sure the ends of the brush are cleared as well. Try the vacuum and press the reset switch on the PN. Does it work?
Is the PN motor running, but the brush isn't spinning. Turn PN over and try to spin the brush. If it turns freely, the belt is broken and needs replaced. This should be done by an authorized Aerus Electrolux service tech to avoid incorrect reassembly and resulting damage to vacuum and owner.
If the brush doesn't freely spin, but turns with resistance, this is normal.
If it still doesn't work, try the Sidekick mini power nozzle that should have come with it. If it works, but the full size PN doesn't, there's a problem with the PN. It needs to be taken to an authorized Aerus Electrolux store for diagnosis (free) and repair.
If the Sidekick doesn't work, the problem is in the hose, wands, or canister. It could be due to bad switches, wiring, and other electrical problems. In this case, the entire vacuum needs to be taken to an authorized Aerus Electrolux dealer for diagnosis and needed repairs.
