Just about any vac shop should have the belt. This belt is the same belt used in the upright vacs as well as the power nozzels. The new oem part number is 48359.

Replace belt genesis upright

Turn vacuum upside down on flat surface, remove the 6-7 screws from the bottom of the power nozzle, lay it on it's side and pry on the two accessible internal tabs to pop top cap of the nozzle off to access the pn motor assembly. Lay flat on it's back again and remove the screws that hold the roller brush in, remove the roller brush, remove old belt, install new belt on brush roll and pn motor geared spindle, push brush roll back in place, replace screws and pn top and VOILA!..you're back in bidness! Hop that helps!

Carpet beater not turning on, rest of vacuum ok, reset button down

Is the PN motor not working, or just the brush not spinning. If it's the brush, a new belt is needed.
If the motor isn't working, it could be due to several things. Follow the trouble shooting steps below.
1. Check all connections from hose handle to PN for discoloration. Any parts showing discoloration or melted plastic need to be replaced.
2. Attach PN directly to the hose. If the motor works, there's a problem in the wand wiring/connections.
3. Attach the Sidekick directly to the hose. If it works, but the full sized PN doesn't, there's a problem in the PN. Problems could include: wiring, connections, bad motor, bad switch.
4. If neither Sidekick nor PN work, the problem is likely in the hose. Potential problems include: bad wiring, connections, or bad switch.
5. You can try another hose known to be good to test the PN. If it still doesn't work, the problem could be in the canister itself.

I strongly recommend taking it to an authorized Aerus Electrolux store for diagnosis and repair if needed.

There is a light on the top that looks like a cord that is on. the vacuum hose attachment does not work. I just changed a bag did i do something wrong

The light with a cord "plug" on it indicates that there is power coming to the vacuum. This is normal.
Assuming that the vacuum works, but not the power nozzle, turn the PN over to view the brush. Clear all hair, thread, fibers, etc., that may be wrapped aroung the brush. Use a sharp knife or scissors to cut through them for ease of removal. Make sure the ends of the brush are cleared as well. Try the vacuum and press the reset switch on the PN. Does it work?
Is the PN motor running, but the brush isn't spinning. Turn PN over and try to spin the brush. If it turns freely, the belt is broken and needs replaced. This should be done by an authorized Aerus Electrolux service tech to avoid incorrect reassembly and resulting damage to vacuum and owner.
If the brush doesn't freely spin, but turns with resistance, this is normal.
If it still doesn't work, try the Sidekick mini power nozzle that should have come with it. If it works, but the full size PN doesn't, there's a problem with the PN. It needs to be taken to an authorized Aerus Electrolux store for diagnosis (free) and repair.
If the Sidekick doesn't work, the problem is in the hose, wands, or canister. It could be due to bad switches, wiring, and other electrical problems. In this case, the entire vacuum needs to be taken to an authorized Aerus Electrolux dealer for diagnosis and needed repairs.

My powerhead drive belt to the N137A electrolux model has broken. I have a new belt for replacement but do not know how to install.

Turn the PN bottom up. With a Phillips screwdriver, remove the six screws in the base. Turn PN over and lift back of cover, then gently manipulate it until it comes off.
Slide the belt off motor shaft, if necessary. Remove the screws on each end of the brush and lift the end of the brush so you can remove the belt, if necessary. Place new belt on brush and place brush into slot. Replace screws and tighten. Pull belt back to motor shaft and slip on. Check belt for tautness. There should be a little play, but not much. Make sure belt is placed correctly and rotate brush a few turns.
I recommend cleaning the inside of the PN while you have it apart. Use the dust brush to vacuum as much as possible out.
Make sure the light cover is in the correct position. Carefully place front lip of PN cover into slot in front.of the PN. Carefully settle cover in place. Check around the PN to ensure cover and base are correctly placed. Turn PN over and replace screws, short one in front.

I do recommend letting a trained Aerus Electrolux tech do this, especially since the belt will have a one year warranty if he/she does it. Of course the belt should last longer than that, anyway.

I vacuumed a shirt. It came out immediately and there is now visible damage. The suction is working but the rotary piece with the brushes is not

Have you pressed the reset button on the power nozzle? If the power nozzle motor isn't running, this is the problem. If the PN motor is running, the problem is more likely to be a broken belt, and it needs replaced.
If the belt, I strongly recommend taking it to an authorized Aerus Electrolux dealer to have it replaced. It can be tricky disassembling and reassembling the PN without damaging something.

Beater bar Belt Removal from Upright Electrolux...
Posted by wrenn on Jul 14, 2008
I am trying to change the belt on an Electrolux Model 1717 Upright Vacuum and I am having difficulty disassembling the vacuum to remove the beater bar and belt.
Hello,
I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure. . Normally there are screws, clips or levers that would remove the bottom plate or if that does not work then the top cover will come off and that will expose the belt. Once that is off and the belt is exposed then cut off the old belt and then lift up the brushroll on the pulley end and install the new belt around the pulley end and re-install the brushroll. Then use a belt puller or a screwdriver with a bent right or left end to stretch the belt onto the motor pulley and then track the belt in a straight line and reverse you steps in the reinstall of the top cover or bottom plate. So if you need further assistance, please feel free to contact your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area or in the yellow pages, or contact the factory phone number or website to further assist you with your questions.

Power head hose to fit power nozzle PN-4. Electrolux MDL 1401B

I would advise because this is an older Electrolux Power Nozzle PN-4
Model #1401B that you could buy a replacement hose of which would save you money or you can spend the price for a genuine hose – replacement hoes work just fine and are less money.
