DELL M209X projector Issue: I have replaced the bulb in this unit and it appears the bulb is not the problem. When I power the unit ON, the blue lights on top of the control panel light and the fan cycles on for about 20-25 seconds it then cycles OFF (fan and lights). After 5-10 seconds the blue lights come back on and then after another 5-10 seconds the fan cycles on. The cycle happens 3 time and then the blue lights and fan goes off and the BULB and TEMPERATURE light come on and start flashing. This happens with either the OLD bulb and the NEW bulb. Looking for any other trouble shooting techniques you may have for me.

Please clean the filters for the air and the air circulation path for cooling the lamp.

This will definitely work, pls also check that the condition of lamp is okay or not as sometimes lamp goes with the ballast unit of the lamp and that damages the new lamp.

I experienced the same thing, only to discover it was the ballast that powers the lamp. I believe INFOCUS repairs for $390.00 per the technician that I spoke with on the phone at INFOCUS.

This is a very common problem with these projectors. The fans lock up and the units are out of warrenty. The fan you replace it with must be the exact same as the old one, even though it is the same as a 5$ computer fan. The processor will detect the non-dell fan and shutdown in the same way.I Havent been able to find any replacement fans that will work. I may be interested in buying your broken projector from you if you give up.
