We replaced the transformer for our RCA F27650. It was sparking and now it is not, but now the screen won't turn on. It is just black. We hookd all the wires up like they were. we can hear sound, but...

Hello
Along with the flyback transofrmer, its horizontal output transistor also must be replaced. I don't know whether you have replaced it or not. If not, replace it too. It can be located very near to the flyback transformer, a three terminal component, black in colour, usually screwed to a metal heatsink. Then switch on the TV and measure the video output voltage at the video output card pluged directly to the picture tube neck. The collector of the video aoutput transistors must come around 145VDC. If it also is there, advance the screen control on the flyback transformer to get a raster. If that voltage is not there, it means that the flyback transformer is not working, and horizontal oscillator stage should be checked for oscillation, check the lined drive transformer for its primary winding open, Check the entire horizontal oscillator section. The collector point of the line drive transistor, the transistor that drives the line drive transformer, a small transformer soldered diretly to the printed circuit board; should be checked with frequency meter. The frequency at that point should come around 15525HZ approx: OK.

My rca tube tv has a high pitch whine when i plug it in no picture also

Hello you have a shorted Horizontal output transistor, also if you replace it also have the Flyback transfromer replaced also, these parts work in conjunction with each other, and if one goes bad its best to replace them both.

10-year-old 32" RCA PIP TV just blinked off one morning after about 30 minutes. It makes a continuous high pitch sound, and the on/off switch is completely unresponsive. I assume this is a picture tube and...

It's not the picture tube(especially if image was good b4 it went dead). The high pitch noise is the power supply whinning because it's shorted or overloaded. I just fixed one of these sets - replaced the horiz. o/p transistor and flyback estimate around $120.00-$160.00

I need to find a service manual for an RCA F32650 so I can replace a blown flyback transformer, preferabley free if possible

I have repaired many of these; if a high pitched buzz when you plug the set in---flyback and horz. output transistor are bad--transistor has a generic number on it--Flyback is location number LL05, part number should be 257805---you will find RCA no longer has this part--most now are replaced with an asti #2078----CHECK the RCA number on Ebay---company I get them from is Suburban Electronics---Flyback and transistor are less then 30 dollars for both.

Absolutely right about the transistor and also check any adjacent resistors to the transformer and to the line output transistor. Good luck.

Where can I horz output for my tv?

You can get one from Here
http://www.partstore.com/Part/Thomson/RCA/237470/New.aspx
I would only use the original part. This site I gave you is for the original Horizontal output transistor. If the part goes bad again, or runs hot, the capacitors in the circuit or the flyback is bad. Good Luck

RCA TELEVISION

Heres the fix for your set, replace the following 2 parts:

1) flyback transformer RCA part number 257805
2) horizontal output transistor RCA part number 237470
you must be proficient at soldering & un-soldering or you can`t replace these yourself, be advised that the anode lead coming from the top of the flyback transformer can carry a VERY NASTY shock if not discharged properly before trying to remove it from the picture tube, I`d strongly advise you to call a tech unless your familiar with this type of repair, BMW Rider

Will not turn on.

  • proceed as given after your power supply is ok (your statement)
  • isolate power supply from h/output stage.
  • check diodes & capacitors connected with flyback transformer.
  • check for print short.
  • ckeck h/output transistor.
  • connect supply to h/output stage.
  • put on the set.
  • hope this will help.
  • good luck

still there is a drop in voltage then your fly back transformer faulty.
