How do I open my GE Top Load Washer to check for leak

Hi,

My GE Washer is one year old and it leaks on the floor when it drains. How do I open the washer to check the hose?

  • Fixitatsix Dec 16, 2007

Thanks for the answer but when I tilted the washer back water poured out of the bottom. Do you know where the water is coming from? Is there a water pan in the bottom? Also, how do I remove it.

The model number is: WCRE6270D1WW. Let me know what you think. How do I get the the metal plate off the bottom of the washer. Also, when I move the washer I can here water splashing inside. I cannot see it in the tub though. Help me if you can. Thanks

Pull the washer foward, tilt back against the wall and look under it.... look where the water pump connects to the motor shaft... check for rust etc.... if so replace pump....

Every time we wash there is water leaking, not sure were the water is coming from. i have checked the hose.

Hi.

Check that the leak is not coming from inlet valve itself. If the leak is from underneath the washer check drain pump hoses. You may need to disassemble the washer pulling up the top panel and accessing the drain pump at the bottom to find the leak.

Intermittent water on floor

Check the inlet valve hoses, even if inlet is at the back, the water may drip down and flow on the front part on the machine. There you also have the PUMP, a faulty pump may leak intermittently.
Here you get all diagrams and parts for your appliance.

Leaking water from underneath towards the right side.

The pad is an insulation pad to keep heat in the washer. It might be worth pulling the washer out and checking the water feed and drain connections - it's a good bet one of these is leaking.

Kenmore Heavy Duty Washer Leaking from bottom

Probably the drain pump seal has gone bad.
Check it for leaks.
If your floor is good and level look for water near the front center of the machine.

Washer leaking water on floor

Need to check drain pump and its hose connections. If its not from the drum seal then that's usually where the leaks occur.
