Maytag washer My maytag washer is 4 years old. During the spin cycle the washer gets so loud. It just started doing this every time I do a load no matter how large or small the load is.  I also just noticed that here is a small puddle of water on the floor towards the front of the washing machine.  Can you help me??

Dsands, if the noise is like a train roaring then it could be the bearing. The fact that you have some water leaking leads me to believe that the tub seal leaked onto the bearing. Now this could be covered under the 5 year warranty, depending on the tech that comes out. Another possiblility is that something is caught in the pump and it is leaking. You would have to open the front panel to get a look. On these Maytags if something gets in that pump like a button etc., they will scream like a raped ape. With out being there my gut feeling tells me the seals leaking and ruined the bearing. Catriver.

Maytag Atlantis Washer makes loud noise only during wash cycle (not spin)

Top Loader? That sounds like a gearbox problem. It is not an easy fix. With that much use and those many years, it is probably time for a new one. A new High Efficiency Front Loader, will save you a fortune in water, electricity and detergent.

Try this forum though if you want to try and get it fixed.

GE Profile WPRE6100G Top Load Washer My washer is 2 yrs old and has started to make a loud metalic banging noise during the wash cycle. It does not during the spin cycle. Doesn't seem to matter whether...

Hi!!
The "Metallic banging/clicking" sound you hear is the Shifter mechanism engaging or disengaging.
The drive system will engage at the start of the Agitate Cycle and disengage when the Agitate Cycle is complete. This occurs multiple times during the wash. GE claims this is a normal sound and should not be concerned about it. Check page 10 of your Operating Manual, if you do not have a manual, click on this link to download one http://products.geappliances.com/MarketingObjectRetrieval/Dispatcher?RequestType=PDF&Name=49-90323.PDF

Good Luck!! A HELPFUL - 4 THUMBS - rating for this solution would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for using FixYa.

Maytag washer makes loud grinding noise during the spin cycle

if it's making a noise then either your drain pump bearing is going out or your thrust bearing is going out (assuming the noise happens in both spin and wash). Tip the washer backwards so that you can get underneath of it. Take the belt off and spin the pump pulley on the right side. This should spin effortlessly.

The middle pulley is the trustbearing pulley. Spin this--- one direction it should have a little bit of resistance--- the other should have more resistance

Loud noise on spin cycle

How did that answer get an 83% rating? It is absolutely useless. My washer has the exact same problem as described above.During the spin cycle it sounds like a jet engine. It kinda sounds like the belt hitting the drive wheel but may be bearings in the motor.
