Hi,

This will be found right near the CMOS battery

Locate the 3-pin CMOS jumper (RTCRST) on the system board.
Remove the jumper plug from pins 2 and 3.
Place the jumper plug on pins 1 and 2 and wait approximately five seconds.
Replace the jumper plug on pins 2 and 3.

Monitor is not detected in Win-8

Not all older monitors have the correct monitor.inf information for the newer operating systems. Look for a new monitor.inf file download that matches your monitor for Windows 8.

Can I just change the module on trhe motherboard from an sata to an IDE on a gateway ma7?

No! the Sata is the newer version for the hard drive, if you attempt to change it, the motherboard will not recognize the ide configuration, plus sata runs faster than the older version.

My Gateway KAV60 got liquid damage in the system board. While looking online for a new motherboard I couldn't help notice both Acer and eMachines also have a model KAV60 netbook that both look exactly...

It's a very good possibility. Most the motherboards are mass produced by a few companies. They just make a few alterations for different brands, models and configurations. Your only major concerns would be if the back plate would match and wether or not you have a proprietary power supply. If your power supply has a standard 20 or 24 pin configuration it should work.

Sir my motherboard is ASUS A7V266-mx when it boot it always asks dip switch is incorect and f1 to continue or del to go bios i dont understsnd what is the problem

dip switches are little switchs physically on the motherboard.

they replaced the jumpers which were found on older motherboards .

it needs to be adjusted depending on the cpu you are running .
and the front speed bus capabilites of you cpu and motherboard.
newer motherboards allow alittle bit of tweaking the speeds and settings from the bios .try that is you are confident you know what you are doing

also referred to as multipliers. if none of the above means anything to you or is out of your understanding then you need to take your pc to a computer shop and have them adjust the settings on your dip switch .

somebody may hae configured it to run faster than is reccomended also known as over clocking ..

you may be risking your cpu and motherboard if you continue to use your comp .

How do you change the default ip on a netgear jfs524 switch

There is a configuration utility program that comes on the disk that should have come with the switch. Install it, only good for Microsoft Systems.Run the utility, it will discover all your netgear switches. Select the switch you wish to alter its IP address. Under system/Switch Information, disable DHCP setting, and enter in the values for IP/mask/gateway that you want.

Overclocking Pentium 3 667 MHz on MSI MS-6198 Motherboard

some pentiums are locked at the set speed but there are no jumpers you have to alter the settings are in the bios eg the timing and there may be step ups to increase the processor speed, but remember you get far faster response times by fitting more memory as overclocking can cause overheating and crashes.

Viewing digital photos on our television through our dvd recorder

nyork3,

This might be due to a problem with the DVD unit, or some configuration change that has taken place (possibly by accident).

Question: Did you upgrade Nero prior to your attempt at burning a disk when you first noticed the problem?

Question: Did you notice any changes to the quality of the burnt copies prior to the first indication of not being able to burn copies and view them on your television?

Question: Did you or anyone else change or alter the configuration and or physical cabling prior to this problem occurring?

I would suggest first that you check the configuration and cabling and then if possible purchase a DVD head cleaning disk (just in case this is being caused by dirty optics), and if the problem continues, it my be an electronics problem with the actual DVD device. In which case the unit will have to be serviced or replaced.

As for the explanation you requested, the possibilities are:
1) Changed or altered Configuration
2) Changed or altered cabling
3) System failure (Dirty optics)
4) System failure (Electronic components)

Possible Solutions:
1) Reestablish old system configuration
2) Reconnect cabling to prior cable configuration
3) Clean dirty optics
4) Have unit repaired at qualified Electronics repair facility

I hope this helps

Thank you

Upgrade processor on ALI 1541 motherboard

May need to be configured in the Bios, but also some older boards had processor adjustments on the motherboard, either with a block of little white dip switches, or with jumpers that you remove or replace depending on the processor. Some times the settings for the processor are printed on the board too. Are you sure the motherboard can take a processor up to 500MHz.
If you don't have the manual for the motherboard have a look on it for the make and model number and search google for it. If it is available it will probably be an Adobe pdf file so make sure you have Adobe's Acrobat reader.
